    Love the trade deadline. Doc Rocket's impact on this board, while controversial, is undeniable.

    My question: With the Granger and Deng discussions, where do they play? Would either really be happy coming off the bench? Do you role Chan to the 4 and play small ball?

    Believe Lowry is the most likely. With "hot tempered" being the link. Lin and DMo being the outgoing.

    My projected multi-team deal works with Pau Gasol, as well:

    Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin to New York;

    Tyson Chandler and filler (Ronnie Brewer) to Phoenix;

    Phoenix's 2014 first round pick and Emeka Okafor (expiring contract) to LA Lakers;

    Pau Gasol (expiring contract), Iman Shumpert, and Miles Plumlee to Houston.

    Once Houston flips Asik + Lin and has this assortment of goodies (Okafor's big expiring contract, Phoenix's 2014 first round pick, Shumpert, Plumlee, Donatas Motiejunas, Houston's own 2014 first round pick) to play around with, there are all sorts of possibilities. Pau Gasol, Rajon Rondo, you name it. Pretty much any big salary veteran who is being shopped by his current team. Just substitute your preferred big salary guy, it will work in the trade machine.

    You guys can call me crazy but I think this is in the works. We just don't know who Player X is yet.

    The Heat angle is interesting. Miami definitely needs a center like Asik. In fact, I would say that Asik would be more valuable for them than Bosh. If I were the Heat, I would do Bosh for Asik + Lin + fillers. But would Morey take it?

    I would have to say yes. Morey would take that. He has always wanted Bosh and if Asik and Lin is all it took (maybe throw D-mo and/or Garcia or something) then he would do it, I believe.

    I don't know if we're whistling Dixie on Bosh, but you'd have to add D-Mo to what we send out. And then I think it'd still be a question of, Would Riley take it? Messing with the immediate future when the championship is at stake, even if the trade is good for the near-future and long-term future, is a big risk.

    Lin/Asik for Bosh is entertaining but if Bosh doesn't pick up his player option after this year, would giving up both Lin/Asik for a few months' rental?

    Then again, what if he decides to pick up his player option next year and the year after that? You can pretty much say goodbye to any chance of getting Love or anyone else.

    If morey can trade Lin/Asik for a months rental player, that would be an amazing job.. We would be free of those contract for next year..thats about 16 Million off the books next year..

    That's if Bosh doesn't decline his player option for 14/15 (~$20 mill) and 15/16 (~$22mill).

    Morey should just give it to them.. Morey does better in the 2nd round picks anyways :)

    So make the current team worse, while giving up 2 first rounders? Sounds like a plan.

    There's no way Bosh would decline his option because he's never making that kind of money again, we'd be stuck with him, and our championship hopes would be pretty much dashed.

    But we'd be helping out the Heat, so there's that.

    I dont understand how you are making the team worse... LIN doesnt come close to ROndo.. rondo has been in championship team. The guy plays with alot of energy.. He averages 10-12 assist when healthy,, Why would we get worse.. Not sure i understand you..

    When i enter again, i want our starting lineup to be Rondo/Harden/Melo/Love/Dwight and sixth man Wade.

    Ah, so the deal is going to be Lin and picks for Rondo? Rondo still is a terrible fit for the team, but that deal would be alright.

    I think you said it best, "Rondo has been". Rondo has not shown he can be healthy in how many years? I know he is only 27, but it has been nearly 4 years since he played like the Rondo of lore. I am more concerned with the Rondo of today and tomorrow. Boston is not a stupid franchise. If they thought Rondo was still capable of playing like a star, they would not be trying to trade him.

    Rondo shoots a very bad percentage and he is not creating high percentage shots (pts off assists/assist opportunities). What is the purpose of having one guy having a ton of assist opportunities when Harden, Parsons, Lin, and Beverley already do a better job creating high percentage shots?

    Rondo is still a good defender.

    Plus Rondo is about the league worst at drawing fouls. He shoots about 1 every ten minutes of floor time. That is not changing and Rondo will never be an efficient scorer until that changes.
