Rick Adelman thinks T-Will is not the right player for his system and doesn't trust him out there at all. :( Adelman is not a big fan of TWill...

Let's see how quickly I can transition from loving the Rockets to hating the Rockets b/c of one man's decisions.

Ab would be an idiot if he doesn't make the best out of those opportunities.

    Who is “we”?

My issue with RA is that we traded something fairly valuable for Williams so why not play him when there is a spot for him tonight? Why trade for a guy you won’t play? Also, you can’t really say AB is in a funk when we are well over halfway through the season and he has played like this from day one of the season (yes, even pre-injury). It’s not out of the question to consider that the guy we are seeing now is closer the real thing going forward than they guy we saw last season. My gut tells me he will be somewhere in between the player from last year and this year’s version but plenty of players have had good years only to look like trash every year going forward.

I can somewhat understand this move by RA if the goal is to make a trade and try to make a run at the playoffs. If that is the case then playing AB to either showcase him or to try (again) to help him return to last year’s form is smart. However, if this team doesn’t make a move and misses the playoffs it’s going to look pretty stupid to waste time on AB that Williams could have used to get comfortable here. Then again, maybe RA is tanking and that’s why he keeps playing the little midget that won’t stop firing bricks.

I think in a way, this is Morey/Adelman giving AB a pat on the back and telling him "go get'em tiger," almost like a little motivation to improve his play. Now, they also are probably thinking either he plays well and improves his trade value and win games or we cut bait and package him for a center.

against LA it should be no problem, it's not like AB has to guard Fisher or Blake anyways. AB has done well against LA in the past, why not let him loose.

I don't know whether it's because his kids are keeping him up, marital problems, unhappiness with Lowry taking his job, nagging injuries, being affected by trade rumors, unhappiness with not being offered an extension, or really missing Yao, but Brooks has entered a slump only the likes of Chase Budinger has seen, with no end in sight.

I'll say this, if Brooks has a half way decent game Bill and Bull will proclaim he is back and healthy but if he continues to struggle you can bet they will blame the ankle for it.

I think when you combine these two posts you get the answer to why Twill isnt on the court.

There is no reason to play him. Doing so can only increase his value and the likelyhood that if / when a deal is struck another team demands that Twill is part of that deal rather than the restricted FA in Brooks.

Brooks biggest value at this point is in bringing back talent via trade. Increasing Brooks value at this point is much more important to the long term health of the franchise.

I'd rather see Brooks , a one dimensional player moved in most deals than I would Williams as he has the potential to be multi-dimensional and a long term solution at several positions - PG , SG , SF.

If Brooks isnt moved by the deadline , I'll have to rethink this position ....

I agree with that. However when I have seen T-Will play, he reminds me of Jermain Taylor, in that he's trying too hard to show himself rather than play team ball.

Can everyone please relax. IMHO RA still thinks that they have a shot at the playoffs, so he is gonna try the guys he has most faith in. If you're trying to win games, experimenting with new players and figuring out in what rotation to play them is not ideal. If the Rockets keep loosing and it's clear they wont make the playoffs, that will be the time RA starts giving Twill significant playing time.

Drazen did play but his minutes were limited. He was playing behind Clyde Drexler who got 36 mins, while Drazen got 12 minutes. Why would anybody cut Clyde Drexler's minutes, so that Drazen can get more time? :) I am gong with Clyde in this rotation, and it's not just because I like Clyde better than Drazen.

"I think it's really important to get Aaron going. He means a lot when the game is on the line. He's been kind of up-and-down. We have to get him where he is confident going into the end of the game."

This is exactly why he should be starting, to enable him to get rythm throughout the course of the game, while martin's more efficient he disappears at the most important part of the game a lot of it's due to the fact that refs swallow the whistle and teams pick up the pressure defensively.

The biggest dilemma though is both brooks and martin are too poor defensively to co-exist which is why he should use lee next to brooks rather than using lowry to complement martin, the sixth man role would suit martin better since he doesn't have the knack to be a go-to player down the stretch anyway.

Looks like Adelman is giving Brooks the same Budinger treatment. Let him shoot himself out of the slum.

I hope Brooks comes through tonight. I want to beat the Lakers so much. Brooks is extremely frustrating to watch sometimes.
