i thought this was funny. how is this classless? its just nelson laughing at juwan howard.

classless would be making fun of juwan's family or something like that. jeez lighten up fellas. how many threads do we have making fun of 'fat' female celebrities? this one is awesome. if only nelson's pic was slightly lower so he can point and look directly at juwan.

I am so proud of you Juwan. You consummate professional, stay away from the end of the bench!

It is good to see him keep a positive attitude because his playing situation could change quickly. I hope he continues to get minutes behind Yao because he can put the ball in the basket on that pick 'n flare play they run that gets him the 15 footer. He's indeed showing class and professionalism regarding his situation with the lack of production.

I don't see anything funny about that article. If anything I love it because it shows this team has great chemistry.

Juwan has earned my respect. He might never become the all-star he was, but he's definately a respectable veteran.

He's still our 3rd option for C and PF. Playing him fresh in the 4q will give us an edge.

I thought the pic was pretty funny. I even like Juwan.. but would like him better if he could get a rebound or block a shot every once in a while. If we could mix his mid range jumper w/ hayes' abilities.. we would have a superstar.

if xomox would have done this in his pic.. then it probably could be construed as classless...j/k. heh people need to chillout.

Juwan Howard is a classy professional. The NBA needs more guys with attitudes like him. I do hope he gets a coaching gig or something else where he can model professionalism after he retires.

I'm not sorry he's being benched, but if he would prefer one to the other, I'd be happy to either keep JH on the bench or swap him for equivalent dead weight (from a cap perspective) so he can get consistent minutes with another team.

BTW, I think the nelson pic is funny. :)

Ok, so Juwan Howard is a great professional and he will always do whats best for the team and blah blah blah...but he gets paid great money to do just that so its not exactly like he's a saint or anything. He is greedy on offense and I'd rather have Nelson playing D on the opposing PF.

    Howard's work ethic + Bonzi Well's talent = All-Star

Howard's jumper and height + Howard and Hayes' work ethic + Hayes defence and rebounds = Hall of Fame. (seriously, those combination are as hard as hell to find).

Juwan, last year I think did the best he could in a bad situation, but is paying the price for all the losses without Yao and Tmac last year.

I think as the season progresses he will get more and more playing time. He is a veteran who can be a solid player on offense and sometimes that is exactly what we need.

I agree with whoever said 90% of players in the NBA facing the same situation would be big babies about it. He has a chance to teach the younger guys from how he reacts to this situation... and it looks like he is being the professional he is paid to be and acting like an adult.

    Glad to hear it.

I have to agree with this. I think he'll get his playing time back later in the season, provided he isn't traded first.

I thought it strange when he said he has never been in this situation before. Wasn't he benched for a month or so in favor of Mo Taylor when he first arrived?

There was a time early in the 04/05 season when Juwan was benched for several games. He eventually got back into the starting lineup.

He may not make it back to the starting lineup this year, but I expect he'll by close to a 20mpg guy by the end of the season. Van Gundy likes him too much to let him wallow on the bench.

And that probably means Novak won't be seeing much time this year.

LOL @ Nelson and JHO wearing the stolen sunglasses.

I think Howard gives good effort on the court but he just doesn't have it anymore. I think he is better off playing backup C for stretches rather than PF now that Mutombo can only give us production once every five games.
