He's not nearly as agile. And one other huge difference -- Wallace could dominate on the defensive end without fouling. Dorsey looks like he'll rack up fouls this year -- both personal fouls, and technical fouls.
i would debate that. dorsey is quite agile. he's very quick with strength. the disappointing thing about dorsey this summer league imo has been his explosiveness. i expected a dunk-athon, but he's been quite soft with a lot of his shots around the baskets. i'm guessing its him not quite having his legs yet. definitely agree on the fouling/tech side of things. but i bet wallace was similar his first couple of years in the league no? its like that for most bigs.
Dorsey is a classic example of a player who is better than some other players but doesn't play as well as them
That's pretty unfair to throw at a rookie (didnt play enough to be considered a vet) who played very well for one of the best if not the best coach in college basketball. I think Dorsey was the plan when we had yao, but you may be right about him being traded sometime soon. This team needs more height. I hope they keep him around long enough to prove his worth, i think this guy can be a ben wallace kind of player if he realizes his full potential.
except Joey is not dumb. he's immature, sure, but he aint dumb at all. relative to Amare (who everyone here loves) he's a gd rhodes scholar.
I'll give you an example. He's been in college for 5 years, and he still haven't gotten his degree yet. 2nd, even though he's a good defender and rebounder, he makes dumb mistakes, like fouling a guy when we were up by 3 with 6 secs. to go and sending him to the line in the first summer game. And last year? He got a T in street clothes and we lost the game beacause of it. Anyways chron was showing this pic of Joey in his article today. I know its from last year cause Donte Green is in it, but I didn't know we had Lenny Smith in the summer of lasy year.
