Great for them, not so great for the chances the Rockets have of getting off to a good start.

After having a severely herniated disc that was causing my left leg to basically die, I would have to agree. ;) There are several levels of herniation. Some herniated discs tend to fix themselves and get better by exercise - others can do serious nerve damage. I still can't believe I freakin' sat on that thing for 2 months hoping it would get better - and in the middle of it flew out to Cali to watch Rockets summer league games. lol. The things I do for my team. ;)

    No, different sources.
The one which reported Sura's injury is sportsweekly , which is much more credible than sina

I was out about 2 months total. But then again, I had 5 ruptured discs, not just one.

Having to use a walker to get to my mail box for 2 weeks is very humbling for a single guy.

That's pretty Chinese to me... Sportsweekly reporting it as well is news to me, good news, hopefully the Yao reports are false.

    Man, Rox get served, again!!!

Last year Dallas dumped A Griffin because they knew he had a knee problem. This year Hawks dumped Sura, they must know he had back problems at that time. Those orgs gave up cheap, quality players for a reason.

Rox's physical examiner should be fired, period!!!!!!

This has Adrian Griffin written all over it. Boki will really need to step it up, this also means that Jimmy and TMac will be playing HUGE minutes, again.

    Ward-Lue
    TMac-?
    Jackson-Nachbar
    Howard-Taylor-Padgett
    Yao-Deke

I wonder if JVG would slide Nachbar to SG and have Padgett play SF at times.

I had disc surgery (micrdiskectomy) 9 mos ago after developing low back pain and sciatica on my 50th birthday (cruel irony).

I was in miserable pain for a month and did not respond to epidurals or pain meds. I felt a lot better after the surgery but do have some nerve damage resulting in leg weakness and paresthesias of my foot.

I've trying to play ball again but my leg has been slow to respond. I know I'm 50 but I was in decent shape. I know Sura is a lot younger and hopefully does not have nerve damage.

I wish I had been as lucky as you guys. I ended up with 2 titanium screws, filled with bone marrow, connecting my L-5/S-1, with the disc removed, after trying endless rounds of therapy, and injections, and I am in pain every day. We can speculate all we want, but the truth is, every case is different, and you never know what the outcome, longterm, of an injury like this will be.

Needless to say, I'm not a profesional basketball player, either. This is very depressing knews for the Rockets. I hope they did a more intensive job of checking out McGrady. Damn.

    Oh, sorry for the confusion.
The Chinese name for titansports is something like "sports weekly", and its previous webiste was sportsweekly.com.cn.

Exactly, I know this guy in New Jersey.
He has heart in addition to his 3-pointer.
    Bring him on, CD!

disappointing seasons ?!? - Lue averaged like 12 pts and 5 assists last season. Not bad for a career backup player....
