LOL. The Lakers played the Oklohoma City Thunder (a team with one of the worst records in the league last season) lastnight, tonight their playing the only team that took them to 7 games in the playoffs with a slighted Ron Artest on their team. To say the Lakers won't be ready to play against the rockets tonight is delusional. I would be shocked if they came into Houston not ready to play.

Of course the Lakers will be ready to play tonight. I wouldn't want it any other way, no excuses on both sides let the best team win tonight.

This isn't the BCS, these teams aren't held to anything by what they did or didn't do last year.

Just like everyone else they have a clean slate and since, they've impressed. So have we.

Kobe was already feeling under the weather and OKC has become a very formidable team, they went to OT and were 2 shots away from being taken to double OT. They are playing a back to back on the road and you think they'll be fresh/ready enough to run up and down the court with our offense and play well against our stingy defense?

I doubt it. We will see though..... tonight ;)

the lakers will be ready to play.

kobe faces shane battier -> so kobe will be fired up
ron faces his old team -> he will definitely be fired up
and this was the team that took them to 7 games -> so they will be fired up

but damn, injuries for us AGAIN. hopefully cbud gets better. i wish he would play in this game b/c he would be playing against the best SG in the L.

Obviously, but if you post it in the existing thread, the discussion can all take place in a single location and a mod will update the thread title.

That's bad. But we still have enuf fire power to go over 100 pts. It's up to Chuckwagon to keep Bynum out the paint.

Not many other options out there... maybe Jermaine Taylor will get some minutes, or perhaps just extra David Andersen minutes? Or maybe just a lot of Carl Landry at the 3.

    Either way... yikes...

Not a huge issue. I can see where you'd want to make a new thread, but I just figure they'll be merged anyway.

Sucks that Chase is out. I have to say, I've enjoyed watching him play more so than anyone else on the team so far. As Rockets fans we haven't seen a rookie step in and contribute immediately like this in a long time. Even Brooks and Landry were well into their first season before making a significant impact. Scola came on pretty early, but was only a "rookie" by NBA standards.

If it weren't the Lakers, I would be interested to see how Taylor does stepping in as a replacement (assuming he gets a chunk of Chase's minutes). Unfortunately, I don't think this is a game in which I want to test him out.

Ariza/Battier will have to play more, and Taylor may get some minutes.

Usually, this is something we can overcome by playing Brooks and Lowry together. But the Lakers have great post-up guards, so that's not going to work so well.

Both teams are going to be ready to play. You don't think Ariza has been looking forward to this? The Lakers will be tired, but they're the still the champs.

With Budinger out, I expect to see more of Brooks and Lowry on the floor together than usual. Bring your running shoes, Fish.
