I think you nailed it. Most people here really don't know all that's been said between Jackson and Adelman.
First thought when I saw the title of the thread: 2nd thought was Kobe trying to milk it and once again to try to be an MJ clone.
Its kobe he is going to play no matter what. and some of you keep saying he is trying to be like MJ....flu ...sore throat ..two different things. Did MJ played with dislocated finger the whole season too...
The W looks all the same in the box score. This isn't a video game where you get a better ending for beating the game on Super Hard. We beat Lakers there will be sex on the streets of Houston, more so then there already is. LOL!
Wants the drama that comes with playing sick. Will do a MJ and play through the sickness and everyone will make a big deal on how he played sick and scored a lot of points to go with it.
Kobe is a great and tough player, but he is also a very lucky player. During his 13 years nba career, he didn't have one big injury.
Stromile Swift is the only player in the league who is soft enough to miss a game because of a sore throat. For the Lakers to make this announcement, maybe its serious enough to affect his breathing and it limits his minutes.
Here's an update.. from yahoo http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-rockets-lakers&prov=ap&type=lgns
if i remember right this mcgrady guy played all of the playoff games for the rockets until this season where he's out after microfracture surgery. last year he even played with an injured knee and an injured shoulder. both required surgery after the season. well, i guess kobe would drop 60 on the rockets the night after he had microfracture surgery, so it's alright. but i kinda have to be careful with statements like this. there might be some clever clutchfans here who see me as a kobe nut sucker and a bad rockets fan now. man, i really wish t-mac hadn't played in the playoffs last season. he would have been healthy this season and the rockets would have been in the 2nd round last season. win win situation, right?
