I agree. I actually think having tracy, ron and yao handling the ball as well as the psuedo adelman motion offense would be good for him. If all he has to do is attack or shoot, its good for his game. His bbiq has never been high, but he is a decent mid range shooter and attacks the basket reckless. It would be nice if he was or is healthy, but I don't think he's close.

More than anything if the reaction time is there he needs to get in there just to throw a couple of fouls (Francis that is). Brooks can offset some of his offense, but Billups is going to post him up and if were forced to double him it could be a long night. At least Francis has the size to match up with him defensively.

There was no injuried involved in the Landry situation last year.

The reason you don't develop him on the floor is because you have to develop complete team chemistry, as well. You have to develop Scola, and you already have Hayes as a known force on defense. Besides, it not just the PF position, every position had to build chemistry in a new system...and you don't appreciate the delicacy of that if you just throw rookies out on the floor right away.

Adelman chose to develop the more veteran rookie PF (Scola) on the floor as energy guy off the bench, and chose to develop Landry in practice with a consistent 2nd unit. He changed their roles at the same time in January, when they were both ready--Scola to starter; Landry to 2nd string; Hayes to spot duty as backup center. Do you see that Landry didn't have consistent PT as the offensive guy off the bench when you are giving that PT to Scola?

That's my answer. All you are saying is we would have been better sooner if Adelman started Scola and gave backup to Landry right away. I don't see how you can say that, since Adelman seems to have been perfectly right.

I know the Phoenix game last year was only one game, but from what I saw Steve played with an amazing intensity that helped fire up everyone else. He seemed completely productive to me, enough to be a rotation-player. He's probably out of shape, but really -- Luther Head over him? Has he really become that bad? Luther can shoot the ball, but I swear I think I can handle the ball better than he can. He looks like he's going to turn it over every time down the court.

Not only that, but I think Francis is the only "point guard" we have that can take Billups posting up. I'll throw Wafer in there too, but when has he ever run the point? Fran says he's practicing, Morey says he'll play if there are injuries. What's the problem now? If someone gave us a definitive answer, I think that would ease a lot of minds (including mine). I legitimately believe he can still contribute a LOT to this team.

Adelman's just not going to announce his intentions to the world. He's not not gonna do the give the fans what they want thing and name drop Francis in all his talks. I'm sure Francis has crossed his mind, but he doesnt HAVE to tell people what he's gonna with Francis before he does it.

All he has to do is during the game motion over to Francis to check in and thats that, let the action speak for itself.

Though the comment of Von Wafer possibly playing point is a little worrisome. Not so much on what it means for Francis, but shows the team's got some troubles ahead. Except plenty of Brooks and Head.

Yes, it is only one game. Rafer has had those game too. Francis shot 33% from the field, and 56% from the line. If you think Rafer's shooting is bad, just look at Francis.

What's funny is that Adelman said he was being truthful. :D

Right, but wasn't he injured right after that? You can say his shooting was a fluke that game, but his ability to get to the basket was evident. I am not calling for him to be our starting point guard, I just don't want to see Wafer and Head matching up against Billups. Now if we put McGrady at the point, than my only interest in Francis is a sentimental one.

I for one want Steve to play but i guess what some people don't seem to realize is that he is older. He had surgery and with his age its going 2 take him longer to recover than anyone who is young. He needs time. He needs to practice and he needs to get his wind back. Time will tell. Maybe tonight or the next game but guys we need 2 be patient..

When you haven't played for many months... it doesn't take two weeks (less... if you count the days with the cold he had) to get back into game shape.

I don't know why some fans keep on saying Adelman must hate Francis. He's already said that he hasn't shown the effort in practice. simple as that. i would do the exact same thing if i was adelman. You don't show the effort, you don't play.
