i can't believe im saying this but guys hes done..i hate to admit it and i am/was a big steve believer for a comeback. I always ignored the clues that he was done like portland paying him 30 mil just to stay away from the team, no one even including him on the team, everyone forgetting about him etc..theres not even we want steve chants this year its time to move on, everyone knows hes done officially now and i hate it but i just have to accept it

We need to keep things in perspective. One of the main problems is we have to many nice guys. They run up and down the court without any energy. To me every now and then they need to inject some life into the rotation .Rtest and Rafer are the only ones who are really mentally and emotionally in every game. When guys know they can show up to the arena and they are going to play based upon practicing they under achieve in the games. RA needs to make these guys compete and if they do not bring their A-Game that night they sit. Luther Head I would bet is probably the best practice player on the team but that does not mean he is going to bring the results Steve Francis can. I am not saying francis should be let in the game just because he hasn't played just let these guys compete for time on a regular basis.

Nobody can comment on why Landry didn't get any minutes until January last season?

That, plus the fact that no other team would want to trade for him....

You guys never fail to come through. So we have an article that makes no mention of a guy who hasn't been relevant in 5 years, and the immediate consensus here is that the coach must hold some vendetta. Really, I couldn't script this any better.

Most impressive was the string of posts towards the beginning that somehow deduced an unpreparedness from Adelman's use of the phrase "I don't know." Wow.

That's like asking why didn't Scola start right away.

The Landry situation was a luxury, because we had two other veteran PFs whose roles were changing on the fly, and the team as a whole was learning a new system, that relies heavily on chemistry-building, and the coach had a lot to work out, in the first two months. Not to mention the whole Bonzi Wells situation--trying to figure out what to do with him--who has a tendency to play low post offense, getting in the way of PFs.

Adelman had the luxury to develop Landry in practice, while Scola learned the NBA. As soon as Scola was ready to start, the offensive energy guy off the bench opened up, and Hayes sat. It seemed all planned to happen at the very same time. Adelman seemed to pick his moment based on the progress of Scola or Landry or both.

btw: Landry did play in three games prior to January. :p

Can't watch the vid at work, All i am saying is nobody is talking about practice we know he has practiced and suited up for the game. Morey's quote was "he was an emergeny option". Why even put that out there if he wasn't ready. Nobody is talking about practicing we are debating if he goes tonight why or why not.

But if we knew what he could do in practice why not develop that out on the floor? does it take a signifacant injury to someone for the best players to play?

3 games, your killing my morale! :D

Also having steve francis as an unknown could also be a luxury, adelman didn't know he could bring landry off the bench as a spark plug, he didn't know how the crowd or team would react to him! It was an unknown until he got on the floor, correct? That is why steve should have his chance, because of the great unknown!

Misleading thread title FOR THE LOSS.

The word "Francis" did not even appear once in the article, and yet you speculate that we've moved on without him? Probably just a ploy to get more attention to this thread.

We absolutely have not moved without Francis. We're just waiting for him to get back into shape. Unless another injury distraction occurs, he will suit up for us this season eventually.

That is the same concern that I have, his reluctance to change unless forced. This reminds me of last year too. I keep hearing people aren't ready but, as in any profession, how can one get ready without be a valued participant? Whether Steve is done or not, does not change this tendency in RA's coaching style. His reluctance to change is what makes me concerned. I think he's a great coach but that is an area that puzzles me still.

Nevertheless, I hope they win because I live in Denver and would love to rub it in the faces of Nuggets' fans here. GO Rockets!!!

    I won't answer. I'll let RA and SF3 answer:

    quotes from Dec. 4th:

Steve Francis: Asked to describe his conditioning, Francis said, “Terrible. I think that will be the hardest thing. Any player will tell you that. You can run all you want on the treadmill. The actual game-time is hard. ... I know it’s a gradual process. If I don’t get in, I don’t. I’m not really worried about that. I’m just trying to get my timing. Try to get closer to the floor.””

Rick Adelman: “He has to go out and practice,” Adelman said. “He’s got to show us what he can do, that he can help the team. And then, there is a chance. As of today, there’s a lot of people ahead of him.”

People want him to play so bad, but if he's not playing, it's my guess that it wouldn't be benefitial to the team. It was the same story last season. Steve had good games against denver and phoenix, but was otherwise horrible. He might be healthy, but he hasn't played basketball in a year. It might be best for people to move on. If he makes it back then that's great. It would only be a bonus though.
