A very good post and should show people that AB is plenty big enough to play the PG position.....what was shocking to me was the avg PF size..wow. DD
Actually my friend and i met him in the galleria outside the apple store, im 6'1 he genuinly only seemed to be an inch shorter than I.
Brooks is already a better player than I thought he was going to be. I figured he would be a career third string PG or out of the league by his 4th year. I was initially mad that Rafer was moved and not because I love Rafer but because I didn't believe Brooks could handle the starting job. I was wrong and I'm happy to admit that. Having said all of that, Brooks needs to improve significantly if he is to be the PG on a contending team down the road. I still like Lowry over Brooks most nights because he is more consistent if not as explosive. Brooks was inconsistent last season but I saw growth that I never expected so I feel confident he will continue to grow and could very likely end up being a steady scoring PG who becomes a competent passer and decision maker. I'm very happy with the young PG duo we have. I think more nights than not they will give the Rockets a mismatch in their favor over opposing PG combos.
Dave, why do you feel Lowry is more consistent? Did you see his playoff numbers? Even though Brooks was up and down, he was still UP.....Lowry...uh...not so much. DD
Me too. I thought they sshouldve traded rafer last offseason, but all I heard was how great rafer was. How great a defender he was. How he is the key. He's going to get better and is on the right track.
I feel that Lowry was more consistent. He might not give you 20 like Brooks would on many nights but he also wouldn't go 3/15 the next night and also fail to grab rebounds or dish any assists. I thought his steady, more controlled game was better to end games and the fact that he went to the rim hard and always a nice thing to have on the floor. I'm still not sure who has a higher ceiling. I guess Brooks probably does but I could see Lowry improving his jumper and being the better player. No matter what, I like them as a combo regardless of who starts.
Lowry makes good passes, and strong drives to the basket. He's consistent in what he does. Brooks is explosive on offense but he can also disappear for stretches.
