I think for all the "smokescreen" comments, I don't think Morey generally misleads people. I know some people think that because some of the trades haven't been on our radar when they happen, but that doesn't mean he's fooled us into thinking he wants A when he really wants B.

For instance, look at both the Artest and Martin trades. The Rockets had been linked to both players for some time prior to their arrival in Houston. It was no secret that Morey wanted Artest, and it was no secret that Morey wanted Martin for years.

It also came out that Morey wanted Rubio, and we saw him desperately trying to trade with Memphis on draft night for their #2 pick. I guess some of us may think Rubio was a "smokescreen" and he wanted someone else, but I'd be willing to bet the guy was Rubio all along.

Sometimes as fans we tend to overanalyze stuff and miss the obvious. In the past week, there have been multiple articles (both nationally and locally) that the Rockets will go hard after Chris Bosh. A season ticket holder on this forum even attested to the fact that Morey had told him that Bosh and Joe Johnson were the two main targers for this off-season. With the trade for Martin, I'd assume this knocks JJ off the list.

And as far as your gut feeling, I'd get a new one. ;) You're essentially saying that Morey will land Bosh using Jermaine Taylor, Jared Jeffries and draft picks. Not gonna happen. We'll give up at least one good, young player, and maybe two -- but I don't think it will be anything substantial. (Read: NOT Brooks).

To land Bosh it will take Hill/Jeffries/Battie and 2 picks alone. We will need to throw in Ariza to land Turk if they demand it. Your absolutely right, Bosh will tell Toronto to deal with any team that can get him the extra 30 million. Let's remember though that Amare is URA.

Bosh is an unrestricted free agent as well, just like Amare. The Suns could be in the same position as the Raptors should they look to SnT Amare. I'd imagine a SnT scenario with Amare going to Miami and the Suns getting Beasley and a big trade exception.

In the scenario that he listed they really aren't taking back that much salary. I would say taking on $5M for one year is definately worth it to add a young big prospect and multiple draft picks. Granetd, I don't know if the package he listed would be enough, but if the picks and Hill are what they want then they really aren't paying a lot to get it done. Jeffries, Chase, Hill and Hayes (who they don't have to pay I believe) gets you to the $12M range. A team wants to keep and pay Hill and Chase (they have great contract values).

I thought Amare signed a extension with the Suns already.

You're probably right. Maybe I'm just projecting because I don't really think Bosh is the answer, but like I said before I'm no GM. I also don't want to give up too much of our young core unless Morey can use our picks (if they aren't traded) to replace Hill, Chase, etc.

We'll see but I'm still guessing it will go something like this: Morey says, "We worked really hard to get Bosh but in the end we just couldn't make it work. We would have had to give up too much of our core and based on last season's sucess, minus Yao, we didn't feel were needed to make significant changes."

Then along comes several interesting moves that strengthen our roster without giving up a lot of significant pieces.

Again, I'm probably way off but time will tell. It should be a very interesting off season!

I can see some teams like Miami/NJ/Chicago/NYC(if they miss james and wade) would take Hedo with Bosh. Will the Rockets try to overbid it if it happens?

    1) Its either that or no players/picks to sign with. Well they still have 8m to play with.
    2) We have no idea who or what they want, but losing the franchise player for nothing at all is not exactly the right direction for a team with losing records.
    3) I be surprise if his still there coaching especially if Raptors lose Bosh.

Continue repeating yourself till you get your facts straight.

Thats the leverage that Rox have. Rox will be offering the deal to Raptor when the others are still trying to sign James and Wade.

So when he was talking about CP3 leading the Hornets in the playoffs, he was referring to the Okafor season, where CP3 was injured?

    What are you smoking?
