I don't know long Boki's idea of "time to adjust"consist of, but most players in the NBA aren't given a long time to learn. It sounds like Boki thinks that the Rockets are going to invest as much time as necessary for him to reach his potential. JVG sounds like he is looking for immediate contributors. I hope Boki understands the severity of his situation. The NBA is a business. Their is no loyalty to a player that dosn't produce in the time frame expected.

I thought that it was amazing and refreshing to see a coach call it like it is instead of saying,"Uhmm, he took good shots, uhmm, they just weren't falling."

I say give Boki a chance, but from what I read it doesn't sound too positive for him. JVG is known for being brutally frank and frankly, I think he's right about Boki. This guy might prove that not every player from Europe is going to be the next great white hope. I can't believe for a guy who is known as a shooter that he can't put the ball in the hoop. He needs to relax, shoot the rock or else he might find himself on the block.

Excellent analysis of both those coaches.

Rudy's downfall was his fear of "hurting egos" of those that didn't deserve praise. He rewarded the hardworkers, but he also rewarded the lazy ones too. Almost "motherly."

That's the worst way to get discipline. Because the lazy ones will continue to be lazy as long as they are friendly with the coach. It's almost like some players were playing with Rudy. Working hard enough to seem like they are putting in the work, at the same time just barely staying out of the doghouse.

Rudy was easy to take advantage of.

Tito may be invited to training camp/!?!?!?

I wonder if Jeff Van Gundy will talk about Steve Francis in public like he talked about Bostjan Nachbar....

I think Glen Rice will still get playing time......he is the only small forward who has experience of shooting. Or maybe no playing time at all.

I don't think people really understood what Jeff said. Everything Van Gundy says is the same kind of stuff Rudy would tell the team, he just wouldn't blast the guys in the paper ala George Karl. There is a difference between discipline and humiliation.

If they demand trades, just gladly meet them then. It's not as that those guys are irreplaceable.
