You know what would have worked out pretty well for the Texans? If they had drafted Vince Young or Bush since they are getting rid of Carr and Rhodes is probably gonna struggle in his comeback.

In the last 58 games Plummer has started at QB the team is 40 and 18.

Except you continue to make excuses for the guy. Every other part of the offense has had turnover and none of them played as poorly as Carr has. Your only argument for keeping the guy is cap ramifcations and outlandish statements like "do you want to pay Plummer 10-12 million" when you have no freaking idea how much Plummer will command on the open market.

But he lost the job to a Rookie and how much will it cost?

Nothing is not better than Carr. The Texans need to make sure they are getting something good for the future. If he thinks Sage can really do it, cool. If not, we should respect the decision. I have trust in Kubiak. But if it takes another year of Carr so be it. Sage will not take us to the Superbowl.

I would love to quit my current job, but I have to make sure I have something just as good or better lined up before I do.

Then they failed to make the playoffs with the rookie...

I'm not saying Plummer is a great QB. He is definitely not my first choice. However, I do think he can be a better quarterback for this team than Carr because I think he can function better in this system than DC. He had his best numbers under Kubiak. Oh, and his team beat the New England Patriots in the playoffs last year. If the Texans draft a QB this year, then Plummer can just fill in until that guy is ready, as I guess was mentioned in that article. It makes sense to me.

Sure, but there are other teams interested in him too plus we don't know how much he will cost. I just don't want to get rid of Carr if something better as a whole isn't lined up. It has to be an upgrade.

It's very difficult for me to believe that Plummer would be anything short of a significant upgrade from David Carr. And I think it would communicate to the fan base that this franchise is very serious about winning sooner rather than later. I think that's worth its weight in gold for this franchise at this point.

Letting fans tar and feather a player out of here does nothing for me.

oops I read your post wrong. Is Plummer that much better?

I'm not sure this is about you.

But I don't think there's anything wrong with fans/customers demanding a better product.

Like b****ing about the Battier trade? That worked wonders.

This inst about a better product. It's a witch hunt on one player. "Crucify Him!"

A better product as a whole might take more than just getting rid of one player without a plan for the long run.

I don't understand why people would be against Plummer besides the salary cap implications. The game he last started was still better than the majority of games Carr started this season.

That is the only reason for me. People think Houston is the only place interested in him too for some reason. It's no given he even wants to come here.

Again, I am going to trust Kubiak on this to do the best he can. There is not much else I can do. And if that means Carr for another season than so be it.

I understand. I'm just saying I think Plummer is a serious upgrade. That doesn't mean we don't need upgrade elsewhere, as well.

See...this is what I don't get. Is Kubiak the czar? When did it start that these guys were beyond question? Didn't we watch Casserly long enough to know that just because you have the job doesn't mean you get them all right? Haven't we seen decision makers in pro sports get it wrong over and over and over again? Even the ones we think are good?

Sure there's something else you can do. You can demand a better product. You can stop buying tickets. It's what people have been saying about the Cubs for years...the fans never demand better so they never get better.

We pay for the stadium...we pay the ticket prices...we pay $8 for a cup of beer. You don't have to pretend this is some Orwellian community where you just go along because Big Brother said so. Low expectations have enabled this whole crappy deal. Enough with that. If you believe Plummer is an upgrade, you do it. Particularly when we're talking about the QB position.

You don't think he wants the best? You don't think he wants to win? I am not going to assume that I know better than him because I don't. That's what everyone did with CD and the Battier trade. It is ridiculous.
