Can anyone confirm that the skillzlab quote was really old, or is there no way to do that? If it's old why are they just now talking about it? Did no one see it before?
Good question. It sure sounds like the sequence went: 1. McGrady posts video yesterday. 2. Video quoted on clutchfans. 3. Quote posted as response to J. Feigan's blog. 4. J. Feigan went and spoke with McGrady (and Adelman) 5. McGrady says quote is old, and was before he and Adelman talked. I am guessing somewhere after step2 somebody in the Rockets organization showed the quote to Morey/Adelman, who went and talked with McGrady about it. In any case, the parties are at leat pretending to be on the same page, and they weren't even pretending before.
That begs the question. If McGrady acknowledges the video is old news, why was it posted yesterday on his behalf? Who is in charge of his Skills Lab?
I am guessing it's "old" as in posted an hour before Feigan interviewed him, and probably 20 minute before someone in the organization talked to him about it. Sadly, I wouldn't be suprised if someone in the organization has to be in charge of monitoring "Skillzlabs."
Yes, it could be fluid. But if the insider sources and the Yahoo reporrt were correct, then Adelman and the organization were REALLY pissed off by TMac and there was ZERO intention to mend the relationship. Now it sounds like TMac and Adelman are now in decently good terms. That's a awfully fast turn around in just a couple of days after a full year of broken relationship.
What do our insiders have to say about the Feigan article that McGrady and Adelman are on the same page now?
Not buying the whole "Oh, we don't want to play him 4 games in 5 night". Like somebody else said, can't he just play limited minutes off the bench? Why would 4 in 5 matter at that point if he's playing 10- minutes? The more I think about it, it almost (crazy here) sounds like they're trying to bring him back as a starter. Even the little jest from Adelman about playing him against LeBron. If he was coming off the bench for less than 10 or so, odds he would see LeBron aren't good. I'm starting to wonder now...
They've expressed their view, a number of times, that Feigen doesn't know what's really going on and he reports what the Rockets want him to report.
Any chance a deal is in the works and both sides have agreed to "play nice" in the media until it goes through? I'm assuming no deals are in place or someone would have leaked it but I find it incredibly hard to believe that all of the sudden McGrady is being such a model citizen. Also, judging by what Adelman says it could easily be another three weeks or longer before McGrady plays. So the guy goes from making up return dates in the media and putting on his uniform in Minnesota to suddenly being cool with not having any idea when he will play?
i actually saw that video onm skillzlab about a week or a week in and half ago before a\it got reported like this. I didnt say anything about it because mcgrady really wasnt going to the media about this, he was talking to the people who supported skillzlab.com.
according to the article, adelman didn't communicate with tmac directly very much during the process leading up to 11/23. he thought it was just a medical decision and tmac knew of that. apparently, he didn't. so since then, adelman has talked to tmac and i guess everything's cleared. tmac basically repeated verbatim what adelman has been saying. so really, people can believe what they want to believe. like you, i think a deal is being processed and maybe tmac is trying to finally effectively do the PR game.
So this article is pretty much garbage. Adelman still has zero interest in playing McGrady? And so Feigan either fabricated the quotes (extremely unlikely) or Adelman is not telling the truth (quite unlikely)? I am confused.
Not necessarily. The coach and player could have spoken. But Adelman still hasn't specified a timetable. He's trying to put a positive spin on it for the media, of course, but its possible that privately he really doesn't want to play McGrady.
This morning on one of the Sunday morning talkshows, Hillary Clinton was asked whether she sees a possiblilty of the Taliban being a part of Afghanistan's future or something like that, she said "Yes, but only if the Taliban renounces Al Qaeda, renounces violence and agrees to work within Afghanistan's constituational framework. However, I don't know if it's gonna happen. In fact, we have no reason right now to believe that it's going to happen " I think Adelman has a similar attitude about McGrady.
If you wanted to go down that road, in my opinion, it could be supported with Adelman's comments when he said “We anticipate him playing". I don't know, just seemed odd to me that he would say it like that rather than just saying, he's going play when he's ready, which he's said before. I don't know...just glad they've "talked" and "got on the same page".
