Its kinda like if the team wins 23 games and has a spread of 6pts in the offensive pt scored vs given up, it would be hard tto see anyone having a good +/-. When you flip that and the team wins 50 games and has a +6 in that same differential, then pretty much everyone will have a positive +/-.. I would think that the better the team, the more time a player will be on the court while the team was winning.. The laskers can probably start morrison and he would have a high +/-. Its swipe at shane or any other guy with a good plus minus, i'm just saying or giving my opinion.
Deckard, I totally agree with what you said about the role of applying statistics. I directed the term "rigid minds" at those regular Battier bashers, and they know who they are. When Kobe was asked who is the best defensive player in the NBA, Kobe replied: Shane Battier, without hesitation. Kobe didn't even go into a mode of saying let me think for a minute or ask someone to give him a stat sheet to help him to answer the question. You don't need a stat sheet when it comes to Battier. You are wasting your time if you are relying on statistics to determine how good he is.
Kwame, leebigez and Bob Sacamono will always hate on Shane Battier, no matter what. Almost makes you wonder what motivates that.
don't know about others, but leebigez said he played d-1 ball. maybe his team was defeated by battier's duke?
This is an amazing article. It clearly shows that the Rockets love Battier. I would be shocked if he is traded, unless it were to get a real superstar.
Nah, i was out of school by then, but we played a great half against the mashburn led wildcats in 91.
