I like it because he's pro rockets. You noticed when Yao scored on Shaq he would be like "nice move." When Shaq stuffs Yao he'd just not say anything.

although he did say thing that he's not supposed to say on TV. good thing that his partner was quick and smart enough to interrupt him.

I like the fact he pointed Yao being compiared to Shaq & how its not fair. "Shaq has been the most dominant play the last 10 year."

I thought it was about the stuff about Dirt Gate and K. Rogers. Anyways, I found Barry to funny and straight. I hope he gets the gig.

I like JB because he's off the wall and adds little tidbits about his experience as a player, like knowing that Zo throws up before games or that Shaq really wasn't that bad a free throw shooter in practice. It's very rare that I watch a basketball game and 'learn' something from one of the announcers.

Are you referring to when he went off on Kenny Rogers for cheating. I thought that was great.

As good as barry was saunders was absolutely horrible. that guy just rides the flavor of week like no tomorrow. i mean at times it had to have been hard to say anything with the entire heats **** in his mouth.

what i found funny was when barry said jvg feels mcgrady and lebron are the two best bball decision makers around and after a pause saunders says "oh and he must have included steve nash" to which barry doesnt say anything.

saunders has always rubbed me the wrong way the guy is soo front runner biased and all to a point where i want to head over to bristol and smack him around with the backside of my hand

yes that was one of them. I don't mind it really, probably it is just a policy for ESPN that's why he was intentionally interrupted by the other guy. Another thing was the way he described Span when Greece beat the US. Again it wasn't that bad at all, they're just too picky of the words to say.

I guess TNT is ok with that if it comes from Charles.

Give Barry a break, it's his first ESPN game, and presesaon, too. He did pretty well for a new guy. Probably still adapting to what you are allowed to say on ESPN. I thought the discussion about who the contending teams are got a bit boring, but hell.. it's preseason, and there isn't that much to talk about except for the battle for survival among the end of bench players.

I guess some here will only be happy if he spends all game praising the Rockets talent.

    I felt somewhat the same.

Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me, but it seemed like when they'd come back from commercial John Saunders would always say "Welcome back to Miami where the Heat are trailing the Rockets ___ to ___". Maybe only once or twice did he say "the Rockets are up on the Heat ___ to ___". As if it was more a bad heat performance than a good Rockets performance.

I promise if the Heat had beaten the Rockets he would have been saying things like "well the Miami Heat look like they haven't missed a beat. They're already in Championship form again and it's only the preseason". But the Rockets blow out the reigning champs (albeit in preseason) and he doesn't even say a damn thing about them being a good team until Jon Barry suggests it. Even then he seems reluctant to fully agree. We didn't even play Juwan Howard, Luther Head, or Bonzi Wells for crying out loud. I don't know...I just felt a bit like our guys didn't get their due credit for a very nice team effort last night.
