If all this info about T-mac's back is correct why couldnt he visit this doctor a year ago? In the article it was stated that he helped sporters like michael johnson ( the runner ) thats like 5 years or longer ago.

Anyway good read hopefully everything the articles states is correct and T-MAC will show the world who is the MVP in april may june.

Petterson should get the Nobel Prize in Medicine for 2007 if TMac can play at least 60 games, and whole playoff games.

I had no idea he is flat footed. That means when he jumps there will be a lot less shock on his back when he lands. He should stuff a sock in his shoes on ordinary days to improve his arch. Adidas should be able to get him some game shoes that does this also.

This is the first time I heard of this. He doesn't want all his players to bulk up, does he? Is JVG serious? I could swear JVG said he didn't want Yao to bulk up because he would lose speed and be less effective and that Yao's best weight was 300-315 lbs. Didn't he also have a weight limit for Bonzi and other players too? He is probably giving lipservice to the newspapers though.

I could swear that Francis bulked up over the summer and JVG told him to lose weight. That was JVG's first year. Moochie went on a weight loss program too, but maybe he wants his point guards and centers smaller and his small forwards bigger. Or maybe he really does want every player to bulk up in the mold of Charles Oakley and rebound.

Mental part is even more important than the physical problem itself

I had almost same problem on my back. I ever got problem on my knee and neck also. These really impacted my life physically and mentally. I got severe back problem (lying down on the bed at first 3 weeks) couple years ago. Months later, it was almost cured. I visited my doctor. He told me that there was not a problem at all, i could do anything i wanted ... but i felt not well, i told him that i was not ready to do something physically (sport ..). He said no problem, just did it, if there were any problems, it would be your mental problem.

Then i did it, yes no problem at all ... :D :D

It sounds too good to be true, but if T-mac never has a back problem again, I think this Patterson dude deserves a NBA ring if the Rockets ever win with T-mac.

Hopefully T-mac can overcome his mental barriers too.

This is the best thing i've read in quite some time. If Tracy is healthy, I am confident that we can definetelt hold things together till Yao gets back.

Dr Phil would be more like:

Dr: McGrady, you don't need a pack of wild horses to score. To win a championship, you have to "get real" with yourself first. :p

It's really such a tragedy that this guy isn't healthy entering what was supposed to be his prime years. A healthy T-Mac free of back problems -- and the mental anguish that inevitably accompanies it -- would be an absolute terror in this league...it would be every team's worst nightmare to have to face a dominant Yao and a dominant T-Mac in a playoff series, especially when this team is continuing to fortify the lineup around these two guys.

Realistically, I think hoping for a 'miracle' cure might be asking for too much, but if he's at least free of pain for the majority of each season and doesn't have to concern himself too much with it, watch the f out, Spurs and Mavs...

I think JP has proven himself tonight, Chinese fans need to vote him on the All-Star team ASAP...he might prove to be the true MVP of this team if McGrady's back continues to hold up.
