That is great news. I just hope he stops lifting so much weight for his upper body, becasue his legs and back seem to be too heavy tolift the rest of his body.
Correction: That is great news. I just hope he stops lifting so much weight for his upper body, becasue his legs and back seem to be too thin to lift the rest of his body
And the guy fixed his flat feet, too. Now Tracy has an arch?! What effect will that have on his game? Does that add inches to his vertical jump? I wonder if this guy can work on Yao's knee to get that healing faster?
Damn, the article and Patterson are making some monumental claims about the back spasms being gone forever. If this is true, I say we have a massive Tip Jar donation to John Patterson for saving my life (and McGrady's).
Also...I'm just wondering.. How the hell does T-Mac jump so high when he's flat footed, wth is that? Am I gonna see some Vince Carter jumping over people sheit from T-Mac now?
I don't care if the treatment lasts forever as long it is as effective the next time he has a problem and as long as we don't wait 7 games to get him treatment.
When my wife was pregnant, she had all kinds of problems with her back. It also aggrevated an old back injury. She went to those massage therapist that did combination of stretching and pressure points and you could see the difference immediately. She was fixed for about 2 weeks, but the cooky thing is that he old back injury hasn't flared up for over 3 years since.
This is great news his trade value should go up now By the way it's all BS.. good for public image though..
How do you know it's all BS? Have you tried this before? Do you think you know everything under the sun?
Remembered? Huh, try immortalized. Try they should bronze a statue of this dude should the bad stuff be behind us and all that's left is "Laissez le bon temps rouele," and "what's your ring size, T-Mac?" Man, just imagine what it would be like not to have 2004-05 T-Mac, or 2002-03 when he dropped his infamous 62 pts, try freak of nature Mt Zion Christian Academy T-Mac!!! Boom-sha-lock-lock-boom!!! I want to see a few vintage T-Mac games before I believe he's really back and I mean back like a rampaging beast MF'er extraordinaire! Please let this happen, the fans here deserve this and to whiz on Dirk's big goofy head.
No more back pain EVER? Well, the doctor did some great advertising for himself with that little claim. I doubt everything is cured forever, but the treatment seems to do good and the guy is in Waco so this is something that can become regular practice if necessary. It is good to note that Roddick doesn't seem to be making repeat visits to the guy and is recommending him too. Maybe Roddick really is cured forever and T-Mac can be too.
Tmac said himself when Jefferson fell on him he expected to be messed up. That expectation of pain well cause some hesitation to extend himself for a while longer. Add that with the fact that he is not in game shape and he is going to look not right. But if he is truly healed give him 4 or 5 games to get back in game shape and maybe a month to truly to get his form back and then we will see the McGrady we will have for the remainder.
I would like to hear Andy Roddick's take on all of this. Obviously he thought enough of the guy that McGrady still went to him after talking with Andy.
Sounds like this Patterson guy is cashing in on some free advertising by making exaggerated claims. He'll get a lot of phone calls today.
Hey if alot of it is indeed mental, and this treatment makes mcgrady mentally confident, then Im all for it. At the very least, we can hope that t-mac will have a little bit more confidence about his durability, and that is huge.
Wasn't there a disclaimer about no more violent impacts. How many collisions do tennis players have with each other during their matches? Seems like this therapist gave himself a convenient out. I'm betting McGrady misses more games before Yao returns (which will be in more than 6 weeks.)
I agree with synman. The pinched nerve is not the primary source; it is a symptom, as well. It is a symptom of muscular imbalance. The muscle believes the constricted state is the default state, rather than the relaxed state. It constricts to compensate for the posture imbalance. Perfect posture balance requires the least amount of muscle action to support the spine and body. Yes, the spasms can be due to a pinched nerve, but the source of the pinched nerve is often the constricted muscles due to incorrect posture.
in otherwords...often times, muscles pinch the nerves from being contracted all the time. It is not always a structural pinching. and FWIW, as for the disk problems, my brother is a neurologists, and he says poor blood circulation can bulge a disk. The poor blood circulation from abnormal muscle contraction can cause a bulging disk which can cause the pinched nerve, as well. So, let's hope it's all a muscle problem caused by poor posture like synman suggests. Those problems can be fixed for sure.
