problem with rondo is he's always injured

 

I thought all we wanted in a pg was someone who would defer to Harden and shoot threes.

Isn't Rondo the opposite? Is his defense so much better than Bev's that you would pay that much more?

 

I guess you don't watch the nba playoffs right?

I thought Lin was a poor fit with Harden because Lin's too ball-dominant and a poor shooter... now Rondo would be great with Harden?

Rondo is a genius, but also a chemistry killer..., I really don't think he's willing to share the ball with Harden.

Frankly, i think Rockets lineup is solid enough to beat any team in the league...If someone can convince Asik of being a back-up center for Dwight, I don't think we should trade him at all. He's just like an extra insurance for dwight's injury or fatigue. if we want to play deep in the playoffs, we'd better keep him this season.

Asik's mobility and mid-range shooting are the biggest holes in his games...i think he's peaked his career in the last season...If he wants to start in any NBA team, he got to be more intimidating offensively or else he is just a ball stopper with excellent rebounding ability...

If Rondo is overrated then there isn't even a word in the dictionary for how overrated Lin is... At least by his super fans.

Rondo last year: 12.2 shots per game, 13.7 ppg(career high)
Lin this year: 11.2 shots per game, 18.2 ppg.

Now try picturing Harden kicking the ball out to Rondo at the three-point line with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

 

I don't think he is overrated, just ignore the guy that claimed that lol I don't think he represents what LOF thinks... rondo is a huge talent but also a huge headcase... I don't think his seriousness and howards joking around will mesh very well...

many stars in the league whine all the time.. and Dwight is one of them. If Rondo were here, Mchale will be fired in no time since he's been having a hard time dealing with the ego issue on the team...Lin took it for Mchale and for the team, but will Rondo do the same? Even a mediocre star like Asik doesn't give a damn about the team...

The most admirable thing about Lin is that it only took him less than 3 games to get adapted to his new role...he was like getting yelled by everyone... and then suddenly he is the candidate of the best player of the week!

 

what is there to overrate... Rondo is a distributor, flawed allstar
He isn't a scorer, he is not good at that.
He slashes to the basket decently and defends well.

 

He is Jeremy Lin and Beverley hybrid without the shooting
but I think he can be clutch

 

I try not to respond to posts like this but it's really hard not to.

Just wait till we are in a series with Miami (if we could even get there) which is the goal, when our entire offense gets shut down because we dont have a floor general. Rondo is a big boy basketball player! I know you probably don't understand the nuances of what it takes to win in playoff basketball situations but a guy like Rajon with proven expierence of carrying a team to the cusp of beating the Heat is EXACTLY what we need!

 

Rondo is the most overrated point guard ever. He has been a system player for his whole career while other great point guards(e.g. Nash and Paul) are real game changers because they can fit with any style of play. Nash took a 29-win team to WCF. Paul single-handedly saved the Clippers from being a perennial lottery team. What has Rondo accomplished? And if Rondo is really that good, why would Boston trade him instead of building around him?

 

Can't be clutch without the shooting. He's too small to post up or force the issue. Rondo will be better serve as a primary ball handler which is something Rockets doesn't need.

Another thing, zone defense will just be implemented by the defensive team on the Rockets whenever Rondo and Howard is playing together. The other team just have to mind 3 other players from shooting. What's worse is if Rockets is shooting on a bad day... I'd like better a defensive player that can shoot, preferably an SG/SF/PF.

 

System player. I think our system suits him just fine.
If Asik is all what it takes to get him then get him healthy.
If it's a nagging injury then don't do it.

 

You know why Asik is returning? It's because these bozos (media) want to trade whoever (Shumpert, Rondo) for him.

Seriously, it's not only the minutes we need to give Asik. The offense totally went away from him--we don't ask him to set any picks nor do we run pnr with him anymore, except a few times with Lin.

Maybe he just doesn't know how to communicate these things. "Hey coach, don't ignore me on the court. Yeah Howard is here, but I can also do some good stuff."

Like, why keep Howard in when the Lakers are doing Hack-A-Dwight? Asik probably said to himself I can do the job.

Hope the team responds well and makes Asik feel wanted. I still feel he is going to be an integral part of our playoff run. Don't go just yet.
