Maybe they are just average players now. I know, it's easy to speculate that when they get to being at least 30 years old, they won't be as good as they used to be.

Olajuwon's best years in the league occurred when he was at least 30, and he did help the Rockets into winning those championships in 1994 & 1995. When he got to be that age, he was better at passing the ball out of doubleteams than he did when he was a few years younger. He was also a far better free throw shooter as well than he was when he first came into the league plus he had added more moves and shots to his repertoire.

The only reason they might get better with age is that they will play smarter, and maybe, play with more passion because when they feel they don't have many years left in them, winning the championship will mean a lot more to them, and thus, will do a lot more of whatever it takes. Maybe Yao may add more moves and shots to his repertoire as well.

You are insulting The Dream by comparing his body to Yao. After Yao and T-mac turn 30, their bodies will start breaking down since both will have played lots of basketball. T-mac has a bad back, and it can only get worse.

How do you know? People do age differently. You might be right about T-Mac due to his back problems, though. Let's just hope his career doesn't get shortened much like Larry Bird's career was for the same reason.

If T-Mac can make it through this season without back problems flaring up, then I would consider it a breakthrough for him, thus I would feel a bit optimistic that he could continue playing beyond age 30.

When I look back at Kareem's career, I feel that his best years in the league was after he had turned 30 as well, but then, he wound up having a jolly good time teaming up with Magic Johnson in winning championships in the 1980's with the Lakers.

As for Yao, let's just hope that his career doesn't get cut short by injury like what we all saw happen to Ralph Sampson but instead, will get better with age.

TMac and Yao are not average players now. But their window isn't very big; maybe two or three more years.

Well IMO, they just seem to play too much like average players, such as not play well together consistently every game.

In order for the team to first win games they should win, and then compete with the likes of Dallas, Phoenix, or San Antonio, those two need to really show up every night and play the games with a lot more passion consistently.

I can also add that the team's PG play really needs to improve as well since it's just flat out atrocious right now.
