I still dont think the Rockets offered him anything. The Rockets have never really said that they made him an offer, he just keeps saying the offer wasnt good enough. Maybe there was no offer at all? Hes just too embarrassed to say it?

I think the Rockets told his agent that they wouldn't be willing to spend more than the MLE, and so Artest decided to bolt for the Lakers. I agree with you -- I don't think the Rockets ever actually extended the offer.

This is so stupid, if Artest wanted 25 million, and the Rockets offered him anything more than the Lakers, we all know he would've taken it.

Rockets offered him MLE, but he could get MLE from Lakers and have a better shot at a championship, which was only reason he took Lakers' offer.

Had the Rockets still had Yao 100% healthy, I wouldn't be shocked to see Artest still in a Rockets jersey for the MLE.

Was it in the same article that Artest said that Joey Crawford wasn't going to allow the Lakers to lose?

Which means, to me, by him joining the Lakers, Artest was saying, If I can't beat them, join them.

    He's just saving face, being crazy-a$$ Ron-Ron.

I hope Ron keeps talking. Hopefully he will piss of Phil and then maybe Kobe and then butt-heads with the Lakers and destroy their team

Don't y'all remember the video that posted here of him cruising in his ride with his agent on the other line? The agent said that we offered a one year deal. I think we would have given him a multiyear deal if Yao hadn't gotten hurt. When he did, Rockets knew that they'd be better off going with a youth movement and giving those guys more experience, so when we do get Yao back and hopefully get something good for trading McGrady, our team will be pretty complete.

I can understand it if it's true. Whether or not it's true, I don't know.

Does anybody still take what Artest says seriously? He's up there with guys like Barkley and Shaq. They are just saying things to make people talk about what they say.

Artest can't let it down can he? Rockets had no intention of re-signing him with Yao's injury which was obvious from the start and he gets to play for a team he wanted to play for and was courted by.

Or maybe he did like playing for the one season with us. Hard to determine with his mind which is why he should shut up for once.

Only thing I liked about what he said was that the Rockets were going to win the championship last year.

Which really means nothing I remember him saying that a couple times when he was in Sac. he just talks doesnt mean anything. Hes actually said it a couple times in interviews over the summer, that he felt the Rockets were the 2nd best team in the NBA behind the lakers, and they shouldve beaten the lakers still.

I found this rather interesting while reading the recap from tonight's game:

Adelman, when asked about Ron's admission of drinking Hennessy during games, basically called Ron an attention w****, saying that he is always trying to say stuff like that just to get noticed.

I don't understand why all you rockets fans can appreciated this guy.

He took terrible shots and yes he got us into the second round, but I think brooks and Yao deserves more credit for that than Ron.

Ron is an ass and i like how he sticks to his values, but as rockets fans, I feel he insulted us by going to LA business aside.
