I will never ever wish for a Rockets loss, but I would LOVE to see the reactions of everybody in this thread if the Rockets lose big today. It would be comical.
ariza is being asked to do too much, like brooks last year, and his %'s have dropped. also like brooks, he's become the whipping boy because of that. hopefully he can continue to follow brooks' lead and take his game to the next level by next year. it's important to keep in mind that the rockets aren't supposed to make the playoffs this season. this season was going to be used to develop young talent. if they win, its just gravy. except, they've been winning so much that the fans have changed their goals for the team. however, i don't think the team itself has changed their goals.
I will laugh my ass off if we still lose this game. And then cry as I realize we would've lost two straight at home.
Precisely. We had been bracing ourselves for a horrible season and possibly a chance to hit the ticket for the John Wall lottery. Surprisingly to everyone this team has surpassed everything we viewed them to be, by that we've been putting high expectations on the team and the players. Some way too high, esp Ariza's. We just need to go with the team and still view all the wins and losses equally helpful. The losses will help this team understand what it takes to win and develop their talents even with an L, not only that but a little higher draft on the board this year. I'm just enjoying the ride myself and am proud that they have come this far into the season with a winning record.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if we didn't sign Ariza, we would have signed Ron Artest, or someone else. Either way, the scenario would have probably played out the same way, regardless of who we signed.
I just knew it was just a matter of time before Trevor's foot would get sore. Yours would too, if you kept driving into the lane, stop hard, pivot and then look for someone to bail you out of your indecisive, half-ass drives. He does this about 5 times a game for about half the season now. I'm sure every time he does this, his foot is like, "WTF?".
If Ariza doesn't start and Budinger does, Trevor's doesn't need to worry unless Chase scores 40 or more. My gripe is that won't happen because his teammates often fail to pass Chase the ball when he is wide open -- or he too willingly gives it up to a mate who is only slightly closer.
They only offer artest one year and will not affect salary cap in 2010... I guess they sign ariza because they want to trade battier to get a better pg but finally they cannot...
