Win 10, 11 games and get into the playoffs and I think we work something out with AJ. This team is gonna be better than expected.

The Texans could win the Super Bowl and they'd still cut Andre if he didn't take a huge pay cut next season.

I'll be incredibly shocked unless he takes a massive pay cut.

I think this is the major issue
Dre knows this is his last year with the Texans Win Lose or Draw

Cap Casualty - So this is a throw away season for him anyway

Great play by Andre, it was a shame we lost that game.

My most memorable play from Andre.

And that is exactly what it takes for him to get a TD. Basically has to barrel through 3 defensive backs. What he could have been with better qbs.....

I think when Andre Johnson becomes eligible for the HOF, this one clip is going to go a long way towards getting him inducted in the first ballot. The only real knock in him was his TD count, and this clip kind of explains what he had to do to get those TD's.

How many times has this exact phrase been uttered since 2003?

Now that's entertainment. Win or lose that's one thing Texans fans can always depend on and that's AJ out on the field making plays. There's not a better player to ever lace em up for this organization.

And people are saying AJ doesn't deserve that million... Ha...!!!!

The same thing he said when he said no team would want Jonathan Martin and a team went and got him ----> NOTHING...

Not just QBs, but Kubiak's "tight ends are my favorite endzone target" strategy also cost Andre his TDs.

The Texans can restructure his deal and give him a big bonus up front so he could have a smaller cap number... Which is what they should have been doing when they restructured his deal 3 years in a row and they wouldn't be in this situation now.

You don't how the cap works apparently.

Giving him a big bonus up front doesn't lower his future cap number.

Giving him a bunch of money up front multiple times is precisely why they are where they are with him.

The only way to lower his cap number for next years is a paycut or a new long term deal.

At this point, that would just make his cap number larger in 2015 and 2016. I think the only way they can make it work is to guarantee parts (all?) of his salary in 2015 and/or 2016. In my mind, that is the only way besides a wink-wink agreement with Mr. McNair that AJ can know for sure he'll get his money.

If Mr. McNair comes out and says AJ80 will finish his contract, I think all this goes away. Just my $0.02.

He never got "a bunch of money" up front when he restructured or anything extra.

And if they do give him a new long term deal they can give him big money up front (bonus) so he doesn't have to take a pay cut... Right...?

Sounds good to me. Whatever will keep him here beyond just this season.
