Uh...no, he said it would be miraculous for the Rockets to win every game for the rest of the season. He said he would love it if his team could break the Rockets' streak and therefore prevent that from happening. Cocky? Take off the Rockets colored glasses, dude...and stop being so sensitive. Wtf are probs?
You call that trash talking? If it is, then players should be arrested for the trash talking done in the 80s/90s. Now, that was REAL trash talking. Allen couldn't talk trash out of a garbage bag.
I didn't see anything wrong with what he said. You guys are so uptight. If you can't get onto TMac for what he says (which, who cares), gotta find someone else eh?
I have no problem with what he said, only thing I'd have an issue with is that he's not playing tonite.
Reminds of when Burress said he thought the Giants would win the SB and people jumped all over him for not picking the Patriots.
It isn't a surprise, every team wants to end this streak. I know everybody is talking about 22 wins in a row but I'm little more focused about Conference standings and playoffs , and playing at all, but I'm happy, especially after slow start Rockets had, it seems like two different teams play... Houston Rockets have beaten Hornets, Mavericks, Cavaliers, Warriors, Nuggets, Bulls, Lakers during this streak, I can't see why they couldn't beat Celtics aka. we're first because we're East.
uh exactly. this board is turning into some egotistical crap. "our" rockets can beat anybody in the world. "best team record in the nba, how dare they think they have any kind of chance against us"
It's not trash talk.....everyone wants to beat us. It's actually shows a little respect that teams want to beat us.
I remember reading a quote by one of the Lakers prior to our game that sounded pretty much like what Allen said... They hoped that Houston's streak would still be alive by the time we played L.A., so they could have a shot at ending it. I thought it was Kobe who said that.
can we stop crying about every little thing that's said about the streak? Ray Allen didn't even say anything negative....sheesh.
Granted, the Celtics will probably win it all this year (barring health issues to their Big Three), but it would sure be something to beat them tonight, it would be ten times more impressive than beating the Lakers on Sunday, although I certainly have a hard time hating these Celtics compared to the Celts of yesteryears; I like a lot of guys on that team, not to mention Doc Rivers who is a class act/great guy. Oh, and I may have missed it, but I don't think that qualifies as 'trash-talking'...I think you're reaching here/looking for something that isn't there...
i have no problem with what ray allen said and would be more shocked if a great player didn't have that competitive spirit in him. i thought he showed respect for the streak but the competitor in him wants to go up against it.
yeah, i mean the thing i felt, Ray Allen was saying was that even with the streak, no one can beat the Celtics... that kinda ruined everything else he said. Hes got braging rights, i guess but even kobe was more careful in his words. but wait, R. Allen isnt paying... oops, let the players playing talk about their team winning this game.
