Yes, Adelman gets all the credit for "developing" Scola, Landry, and Brooks. If they were drafted by any other coach, they would be sucking.
They probably won't, but who knows if they'd be as ready as they're under Adelman in less than half a season? We have better players now because Adelman developed them - fast. Adelman had the guts and the patience on developing rookies. As for rookies suck under JVG and begin to contribute under Adelman, yeah, I have a name, Steve Novak.
We have better players because Morey got them - fast. Yeah, Steve Novak is just tearing it up this season: 7 minutes per game, 3.9 points per game, 0.9 rebounds
Morey got them one by one, and RA developed them at the same time in less than half a season - fast. Novak is such a pure shooter that begins to do what we need him to do, shoot the ball when we need it.
-RA developed players from crap into really good in half a season. -We got players who were already pretty good and just needed a bit of experience to be ready. Which is more likely?
I love the confidence that Adelman exudes and it rubs off on players. I have to say one thing. If Tmac had said the same thing, some people would have asked for him to be waterboarded.
I don't think there is a generic answer to your questions, talented rookies can take a lot of time to develop, it depends on rookies themselves, the system, oh yeah, and coaching style. Gary Payton and Jermaine Oneal took several seasons to blossom.
Ugh. Jesus, the one thing I hate, JVG haters. The man was fired. :/ It's not even a matter of JVG>Adelman or Adleman<JVG anymore, just watch the friggin games. Hakeem>>Yao, but who cares? Hakeem ain't playin now. I mean, stop kicking the man when he's down.
Ok...sorry for the double post, but that ended up really weird-looking. It's not a matter of JVG being better or worse then Adelman just as it isin't a matter of Hakeem being better then Yao. The past is the past. Why kick the man when's he's down?
Adelman channeling Tracy Lamar Mcgrady here? But really, I do love his confidence, because considering how dysfunctional our offense was and his LACK of confidence in us, we really have come a long way
