PSSSST....we know that, but that argument has gone on deaf ears, if you insert the race card, it will make them squirm, they don't want to lose the Chinese market because they are treating Yao unfairly...

does anyone else remember that playoff game where shaq said $hit when he was interviewed? Bob costas was like we're live shaq and then shaq said I dont give a $hit. Didn't he get a few calls the next game?

Yao doesn't need short-term solutions -- he needs to get the calls for the rest of his career. If he would just learn how to swing his elbows like Deke, other players wouldn't get so close fearing loss of teeth through incidental contact -- which is not a foul. Shawn Marion can attest to that from the last game with Phoenix.

Deke doesn't intentionally set out to hurt people. He just keeps his arms up high and his eyes are always following the ball when going for rebounds. Just the fact that Deke's arms are high exposes his elbows and opposing players just have a habit of running into them. :D

Has anybody ever thought that the NBA is actually envious of the Houston Rockets for all the Chinese Fans and $$$$$ they are making because of YAO MING!! I wouldn’t doubt it if there was a conspiracy since LES is cashing in and NOT “SHARING”….. Once LES starts sharing ($$$) ala MARK CUBAN we will see better calls going our way! In the mean time don’t expect things to change…. (T-Mac will fouled hard and Yao will be called for ridiculous fouls)

Yeah if you comoeout and call the league and the refrees racist will make alot of headway. NOT. that will creat a atmosphere of hate from both sides.not saying we shoud'nt file official complain, we should, but to comeout the race card and threaten the NBA with withdrawing the chineese market is is crazy.

How are you you gonna deprive the NBA of the chineese market when both yao and Yi both play in the NBA. unless they both leave the league, the chineese market will need the nba as much as the nba needs the chineese market.

We needs cool heads to pervail here. any rash decision by us is not gonna help anyones cause.

If I were Yao, I would tell all the Chinese manufacturer stop producing products for NBA, and tell all Chinese fans to stop watching the game!

Actually that is a good idea.
Chinese fans should organize a day of boycotting NBA games or NBA's products and see how the league responds.

Yao has to do his part. If anyone pushes him with two arms, Yaos should push/drag/murder him. Yao will get a few foul calls initially, but as time goes on, ref will pay attention.

Huh? You don't threaten, you make a casual remark like say Yao is getting the usual bad calls etc.

Reporter: "Yao what do you think happened tonight?"
Yao " What? You saw the game, the Refs have never called it fair for me, people push me, pull me, yank me, undercut me and the Refs don't blow the whistle, but if I reach my hands straight up and they run into me it is a foul"
Reporter: "Why do you think that is?"
Yao " I don't know, maybe they are against big players, or maybe they don't like Chinese players, I mean I have been unfairly called since I got into the league, who knows..."

Make the comment to where it is a subtle jab, but one that will cause Stern to quake in his boots to Yao's marketing muscle.

Got to play the game....baby ! It is sometimes not about what is said, but what is implied or unsaid......and how you say it, or imply it....

Yao needs to go to the Karl Malone school of throwing elbows and start laying some of these guys out. He may get some fouls called, he may even get a T or two, but I lay odds that the message would be heard loud and clear and these cheap shots they are taking on him will come to and end.

seriously dont see how this team is different from last year's JVG team: 2 star carry all the way, everyone play set offense, can't hold on to leads, 2 star's workload doesn't seem to get any easier if not harder.

Except the major difference is this team can't even play any defense and grind out a game anymore. Not even one addition of the off season is even worth mentioning as of now

I would beg to differ. I think the NBA relies much heavier on the Chinese market than vice versa. Watching basketball is a luxury, especially since there's still the CBA in China. However, having 90% of NBA product suppliers refusing to produce in addition to a tremendous drop in sponsors/viewers is a whole other story. Decrease revenue + spike in net operating expenses = huge financial losses.

You must be forgetting about Divac, Ginobili, and Nowitski. Notorious floppers who consistently get calls in their favor for flailing their arms and acting like they been hit with a baseball bat. You must have never heard about those flopping Europeans.

It's certainly not a race issue. There are definitely 2 sets of rules for big men and perimeter players. Yao also doesn't seem to be taking advantage of the rules for big men, like Duncan, Malone, or even Deke. He plays small compared to them.
