LOL. Look at the shooting form that he has in NBA 2K9 <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SSmrNxuAVG4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SSmrNxuAVG4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
kmart will be fine...everyone will be all up on his jock when he consistently scoring 20+ points a game in an efficient manner, i'm not gonna over react to 2 games when there is about 5 years worth of proof that he is a an efficient scorer.
Thats his job. thats what he gets paid for. if he could contribute in other ways if his shot is off then ok, but he cant pass, rebound or play defense. his supposed strength is scoring.
I can't even believe we're sitting here dogging a guy after 2 games....the guy has proven that he can score.
As for KevMart he was a borderline allstar with allstar scoring ability and average defense. He is also coming back off a major injury. I think he is young and can be that scorer again that he was.
He had 6 rebs. 5 ast. and 3 stls. against the Pacers. He can do a lot more than scoring and your alarmist take on the new guy makes you look like you don't want him to succeed.
Truth be told the guy has been declining every year with his efficiency, and has yet to carry the kings to the playoffs during his tenure there. His defense will be a big weakness to the team especially considering he can't defend wings in the post. Which will lead back to the bat and riza combo, and we all no how well that works. Most importantly why do we need all those (protected) draft picks, when we already have a young roster that's cluttered with no openings in the rotation. How will they develop with no playing time? IMO... this trade was a downgrade
My bet is that Morey uses those picks & and some of our young talent to acquire another piece. This is the type of trade where we wont see the impact for a few years
I suspect Spiegel might be an undercover Kings troll that's unhappy about the trade. I have never seen any posts from him until after the trade. Every post seems to about Martin.
Morey has mentioned being better positioned for sign and trades this summer. There's nothing wrong with having draft picks or rookies to trade. Greene was able to get us Artest, who led us to the 2nd round.
At least Jordan Hill has good intentions. Judging by his time with the Knicks, it will take him a while to "get this system down."
His TS% in the 4 seasons leading up to this one are: .604, .614, .618 and.601. How is that "declining every year"? He had a touch season this year, but his efficiency in the last 4 has been very high (even with fighting through an injury last year). While we are on it... are you gonna b**** about Carl Landry's efficiency "declining ever year"? So you would rather the Rockets not get picks in exchange for taking on Jared Jeffries contract? By getting rid of Chase Budinger, of course. Man, I made a joke thread about getting rid of CB in order to give the picks pre-developmental minutes. Should have known someone would seriously believe it. Clutchans, where amazing happens.
Some posters need to do their homework before they get PWND by facts. Here is some help: http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics http://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm http://www.basketball-reference.com/
Uhhh Rox FANS do mind losing. The GM, coach, and owner all knew what to expect coming into the season. It's some people on this forum that have set there expectations on a 2nd round playoff berth for this team that is the problem. You go from blaming the players, to the coach, to the GM. This is still basically the same team that started the season. Expectations should still be the same. Maybe we can challenge for a playoff spot. That is what was expected in October. We came out and won a few games early and some fan's expectations changed. They expected us to be a top 6 team for some reason. Didn't take into account we still have a cast of role players. That other teams will start scouting us and taking things away and making our role players do things outside their comfort zones. Be realistic people, with no Yao in the lineup, every game is a challenge for this team. There are no easy wins for us. Give the new guys a couple weeks to fit in and then we will see what we got. Playoffs or no playoffs, that should not determine if the trade was a success.
C'Mon Man! I mean really, are you serious? Whoever said Martin was brought here to be a defensive stopper? Why does every player we bring in have to be a top notch defensive player? The JVG days are over people, wake up. Nobody is looking good on D for us this year with no Yao in the paint behind them and we still have to see what Jeffries, Hill, and Armstrong can offer. He was brought in to score points. He is a serviceable defender, he tries. That is all you can ask for. The picks can be used in trades. They are assets, we wont necessarily pick players in the draft to keep. Other teams rebuilding will need draft picks and will be willing to trade players for those picks.
