You could argue that Artest is the new guy so he shouldn't be too vocal. But what's more disturbing to me is that T-Mac's doing stuff that's leading to his teammates calling him out.
Would TMac been given the same treatment if he had first come out and said, "You know, some of us have to play smart D, not always gambling on the steal b/c it's compromises the team defense and that's why our defense has looked so terrible this year. Some of us need to realize when a play is run for us (iso), there are options when making your move. Creating for teammates is an option, not just going head down to the hole on a bum ankle. There's a thin line when playing hurt and helping the team, and playing hurt and hurting the team." Would people be saying, "Yeah about time TMac called Artest out!" or "yeah, he's showing he's a leader now!" NOPE...it would be, "McLady needs to work on his crap before calling out other players." McGrady is HARDLY alone in doing something "so bad" that warrants teammates calling them out.
McGrady's got his problems, Artest's got his problems. Neither player's problems give the other guy a pass. Put simply, they both need to get their act together. The bottom line remains though that T-Mac has got to stop screwing up, regardless of what Artest or any other Rocket does.
