The point of canning Van Gundy was to show that not advancing in the playoffs in 4 straight years is unacceptable. Van Gundy's way of "getting through" to McGrady was basically letting him do whatever he wanted. How would he get through to him this year? So JVG is here and suddenly McGrady's healthy this year? He's no longer "petrified" on the court?

I don't see how anyone who's watched this team play recently without their supposed best player, and then without two of their "big 3", could think there was a better coach anywhere in the league. I don't see how anyone who saw the Atlanta, Boston, and LA games could want anyone else on the sidelines.

Examples of LB "succeeding quicker" everywhere he goes?

You have to agree on this bit to be honest.

The 22 game win streak was not something anyone can ignore. In fact, a coach that does something special in his first year is almost gauranteed a few more years with the team.

The 22 game win streak showed how Rockets (and McGrady) can and will buy into the system when they're relatively healthy. Passion has a lot to do with this as well, but injuries really has turned McGrady around 180 degrees.

I don't think RA is a bad coach, but I don't think he can utililize our superstars to their best. Yao should easily be getting 5-10 more shots in a game, but the ball should not be with him in crunch time.

Rafer should easily be dropping 5-10 shots in a game, and the ball SHOULD be with him at all times instead of chucking the ball to Yao at every single possible moment to get some easy assists.

I still believe in RA, despite all the bone headed decisions he made in close games.
