I'm glad that we contacted Harris but he wants more money so he is less likely to sign with us. Ryan Bowen is a good defender but doesn't bring much else. I think he is likely to take away minutes from Boki. I do feel that neither Gaines or Boki are ready for major minutes but getting Bowen won't help much.
I don't think we are looking for camp fodder since the Rockets don't have much faith in the young guys.
We do need another player at the PG spot IMO but no one is available.

Travis Best is athletic but I don't think he will be an improvement over Lue. But I do agree that he could play as a 3rd PG.
If Boki is injured, I can understand why they are going after R. Bowen but if Dermarr Johnson hadn't gotten injured I would go after him.

I think this is th e most important part. We are not looking for aback up point, or a back up three. We are looking for a lock down defender if one of their guys gets to hot. Tmac may be good enough, but we don't want him burning himself up on the defensive end. Boki (not going to get time - my opinion) and Padgett (whom I actually like) will not suffice as a defensive stopper.

There's also such thing as putting your best possible players on the floor. Bottom line is, Harris would be a much better option for us than watch two scrubs fight for time. Harris is established.

Sura is looking for minutes, but not until he heals, so your scenario doesn't work. Gaines and Nachbar know they're going to have to prove they should play, and this is what we should expect. If someone has a problem with riding the bench, they aren't the team player we need/are looking for.

It is interesting that they are trying to find a replacement when they already have Gaines who can fill in. IMO, Gaines & Sura have the same skill set... athletic, average shooter, below average defender, can play both guard spots. What is even more interesting is, due to the reports, it seems Gaines is not viewed as a contributor at all even though the Rox wanted the Magic to include him in the trade. I guess they just thought he would be a decent trade chip for the near future.

Here is a tid bit on Bowen. Not sure how to do the link thing, but I copied it from RealGM.

The Miami Heat are looking at former Nugget and hustle player Ryan Bowen to fill their void at small forward.

"They have a specific need where he is strongest," agent Guy Zucker said of the defensive-minded 28-year-old. "Ryan had been scheduled to come in before the storms, but everything had been put on hold. So it's not as if this is a last-second thing."

Because of salary-cap issues the Heat will only have $745,000 to play with. In Bowen they get a player who knows his role and plays it well, and would also be content with the low pay and a chance to play. In other words, the exact opposite of Michael Jordan.

Ha! Divac also had a herniated disk, in his neck this time. The lesson is that every team will have its own injury problem. No need of panic.

I think the only reason they are looking at Bowen is because there is little chance that Boki will produce any goods this season . He played (with Slovenian international team) against medicore Polish side a week or 2 ago and menaged to score 0 points . I dont think it needs any comment .

That post is not the best way to start posting here, you've been officially marked a Boki hater now...

how can you tell that he hates boki? i don't hate boki, infact i want him to become good enough to be our starter. however, what he said makes sence, and if boki isn't playing well then we must accept it.

I was just kidding... But with all the love given to Nachbar here I didn't think that was the best way for him to post his very first post. I do agree with him too...

Hey folks, let's get a shooting guard named Luciuos , but if the asking price is too high let's go with someone thats sole purpose is to play a little D and most importantly, knock down the three!

What is the problem with you guys. corrado doesn't post for two years, and happens to make a comment about Boki that isn't too flattering and suddenly he's a Jazz fan. Way to treat the delurker.
