If Gasol was so good why would the Lakers get rid of him? Want our players to replace him? Morey seems to be the prey in all of these deals. Lakers are the predator. I wouldnt want the deal at this point. They know something. Gasol may very well be done. Any kind of drop in his energy on the court with not being happy to be here would result in even worse season next year for him on top of his declining game.

If Kobe ain't happy ain't nobody happy.

If Bynum and Gasol + Brown = bad mix and two are Buss IIs heartthrobs...

It isn't GET GASOL. It's get Gasol for a worthwhile reasonable price. That's me, anyway.

The Rox blew their chance to tank. Now, the Rox need to get something in the tank!

Yes, Les may be growing impatient, and Morey may be desperate, but they shouldn't be. The Rockets parted ways with Yao a very short time ago. People around here seem to think it's easy to acquire stars and to rebuild teams. But, it's not easy. It may very well take some time and patients to rebuild our nucleus for the future.

Even without acquiring a "star", I'm already excited to see what Motiejūnas can do. I'm looking forward to see what the Rockets get with two first round picks. I think Parsons will continue to improve. If we can trade Lowry and sign Dragic, we may have our PG for years to come. I'm still wondering if Morris might develop into something of value. There is plenty to look forward to next year without making a big trade.

I will not be excited about acquiring an old semi-star for 19 million per year.

you would be replacing Scola, Martin and Gogi with Gasol, Nene and Lin. how does that not represent an upgrade? or to put into better context...how does that represent a better package to offer for Howard?

I know it sounds petty....but I don't really want Gasol over here regardless. He made it very clear he didn't want to be here, and he doesn't have the drive or is quite frankly good enough to make me think he will come here and play well despite that.

first of all, i don't think that's a better package to offer for howard, but that's another story entirely (there's no way in HELL that the magic would be willing to take on nene's contract). morey wasn't attempting to put that team together to trade for howard the following season, nor was that the reason that between 99 and 100% of the in favor posters on here were in favor of it. they were in favor of it because of some combo of delusions including thinking nene was somehow good (because morey thought so), john hollinger telling them that those 3 could somehow get you a #3 seed, and thinking that those big 3 were somehow considerably better than the sum of their parts. it was all a bunch of agreeing with morey because they would agree with anything he did.

we've already had to listen to the excuse that this season and our future is david stern's fault. don't tell me that now that people are starting to realize what an awful, awful trade that would have been, that they are changing their cry to "well we could have gotten howard with that package the following year". that's not really happening, is it?

A trade I could possibly see happening would be Gasol, Metta, and Goudelock to the Knicks for Amare and Chandler. This gives the Knicks some salary relief and clears out Amare. They can then build around Melo, Gasol, Lin. You could mix up the pieces going out with Pau. LA would need to send out about $7.7 mill in additional salary. Whatever works salary cap wise with Pau.

Lakers are stuck with two centers. One of them could be traded for a premier point guard. Or.....Lakers could sign Steve Nash for MLE. Nash would be the perfect guy for them to take the load off Kobe. Nash, Kobe, Chandler, Amare. They may be able to get Portland to do a S&T Bynum for Batum or send Bynum out to a lottery team for MKG to play SF.

Nash, Kobe, MKG, Chandler, Amare..that would be a nice team in Lakerland to make a run for 2-3 years.

On the other hand, the Knicks get their big 3 and some breathing space and avoid a hard cap.

And it takes LA out of the Dwight/Deron sweepstakes.

The only way I want Gasol here is if it helps us facilitate a deal for Dwight Howard. The end.

That's a top four team in the west. Easily.

Maybe I am just blinded by my dislike for the Lakers? I think he is slowing down though. Not sure if Morey is good with that and plans on that being part of the deal is taking a lesser version of Gasol. Gasol is still pretty good I have to admit. Not sure what the Lakers want though. They have to know Gasols trade value is at an all time low.

gasol, nene, and kyle lowry is a top 4 team in the west. easily. (your crazy speculation)

kobe bryant, andrew bynum, and pau gasol was a top 4 team in the west this year. Barely. By 1 game. (what actually happened)

I would not do this, but that's just my take. We're giving away too much. I would only do Scola, Lowry for Gasol, Blake, 1st pick, 2nd round pick. Remeber we didn't even want to do a Lowry-Gasol swap.

It seems everyone whant to pin gasoft on us . I really hope we dont trade for this guy , yes we will probably make it to the playoffs, but whats the use if your not a conetender or near a contender team. Only guy I want from the Lakers would be Bynum, sure hes immature , even though I think its more of the frustration of having mike brown as a coach. I think he can turn it around here ,he will be the star aka batman.Something he has always wanted but the lakers have been reluctant to give him . Is it a long shot yes but if were gonna give up the farm it better be for something worth while . just a thought

You of all should know that Gasowl- kenny pronunciation- has been used to play like the 2nd or the 3rd after Bynum in the past 2 years. Waste of time and effort if you ask me...... unless we have Dwight and Deron already.

Chandler, the heart of NYK basketball? Amar'e, the poster boy for uninsured contracts?
