A few months ago I thought KPJ's ceiling was as a 6th man combo guard. Now it's changed to 7th-8th man as a wing player; I don't think he'll ever be a positive force as a primary playmaker, whether against starters or reserves. He's at his best when he can attack when he has a mismatch. If he can't do that, he's a negative force on the court. I think Christopher's ceiling is as the 4th or 5th best starter on a contending team. So 4 < 7 and I have to pick Christopher over KPJ. I am surprised at how one-sided this poll is. When I expressed some reservation over declaring KPJ as part of our core this past off-season it seemed to rustle some jimmies.
neither is really a true PG. But i'd much rather see JC in there. I'm over KPJ. The number of times every game he does some kind of hesi, behind the back dribble, maybe a crossover in a one on one situation, where the defender is like 3-4 feet off him, and the move does nothing is ridiculous. He's sticky, the ball stops with him too much, and he just can't get to the hole with ease, and also can't shoot a high % from the outside. The entire offense bogs down with him. If DJ Augustin ever got healthy, I'd actually prefer him to start.
KPJ was supposed to be our potential Harden replacement. Sadly, after a very positive and productive year last season, he has not put in the work and his trajectory is going the wrong direction. Just look at his horrid free throw shooting and high turnover rate. Hunch is his off court activities have caught up with him. Can someone post the Rockets record in games he’s started this season. Thinking it is something like 3-25.
well damn, KPJr getting blown out in the polls If KPJr is told he’s no longer a starter, how do y’all think he’d handle it? My guess is not well
I voted for JC even though I still hope KPJ develops. It seems that JC's attitude and energy are in a better place than KPJ's right now.
Christopher imo is better than KPJ right now and he still has room for growth. The quicker this charade of having KPJ as the Rox starting pg ends, the better for the Rox. It would be great if the Rox could get a legit, bona fide pg but in the meantime I would like to see Christopher paired more with Green.
this has nothing to do with developing DJ Augustin. it has everything to do with developing Green and Tate. Nobody looks good playing with KPJ.
