{thread derail ahead} Hey Juan - loved the Calvinist response. Beware - the following has "my" Calvinist interpretation. "My" view is that He knows who will and won't believe. In fact in IMO, I think the Book of Life is already written because He knows the complete future. He might steer events a certain way for our benefit though. Lets say that I was one that would have believed if someone told me the message but Jonah was assigned as my messenger and decided to go fishing instead. He may keep prodding Jonah or He might send another messenger and if necessary another. And as a last resort He might send an angel or reveal Himself in a dream or burning bush or a donkey or hand scribing on a wall or (I can't even imagine all the ways He could get His message across). In other words, I think everyone who will receive Him will have the chance to accept. And He might even use those who won't/don't believe to help those who do/will. I used to think that if He did a miracle for everyone, then they would believe but the fact is that the One that did the most miracles was crucified. Which takes me to my 2nd IMO...He doesn't want puppets. No offense against other cultures but which would be better to you? A wife who loves you for who you are or a wife you forced to be with you? I doubt you or your wife would be truly happy if you forced her to be with you. He wants us to know and love Him for who He is. By the way - I was one of those people that I think everyone assigned to me went fishing.
Have you been touched by his noodley appendage, recently? He will heal your wounds and erase your strife.
I never heard Jesus say not to have an abortion, but I did hear him so to give to the poor, to love one's enemies, to let someone slap you on the cheek then turn the other way let him slap your other cheek, then after all the slapping go home and pray for him.
