I really hate to say it, but I think he can be a great scorer as well. I've studied a lot of players for decades and intuitively you start to get a real feel for a players potential based on watching thousands of games and players. One thing I noticed when we first got Harden, it was early on, you could tell he had potential to be a great scorer and I distinctly remember thinking this guy has potential to lead the league. I may have even posted it back then, I'll have to check. One thing about Wood, he gets his points effortlessly in the flow of the game. We haven't even really been creating plays or running offense for him. When Harden was allowed to spread his wings and get comfortable in his role with Houston he really became an incredible player. If he learns to be a strong passer, top defender and be able to take over games at times while still keeping the flow of the team offense; he could legitimately become a superstar talent imo. He actually has the potential to average 25-30 a game and be an all around player. This is why I really don't want us to trade Harden, forget what could have been, this can happen now if handled right imo. Again, nothing is guaranteed but it's great to watch.
1) Wood needs to get a go to move when he is isolated if it’s a face up jab one dribble pull up or a back to the basket outside shoulder turnaround shot.. something he can rely on so he can be more decisive 2) defense defense defense... he has all the intangibles to be an amazing defender on the perimeter/help defense/ and shot blocker just needs to focus on making impacts on that end of the floor as well.
i know it's usually a meme but he really needs to put on an extra 10-20lbs to get to that next level IMO. he will also need to add some more finesse into his game. his 25 year old body can handle this reckless athleticism for now but not all his scoring has to be so direct to the basket.
Do we have his rights after his contract or nah? Can we extend him? Sorry, dont know how nba contracts work
Pretty sure you have to have a player for 3 years before you have his bird rights, or traded from a team that’s had him under contract for 3 years that’s how it works in 2k lol
He's bad defensively but I think he has plenty of room to grow. I just worry about Wood/Cousins defensively in the playoffs.
The rebounds and blocks were huge tonight. We have to be able to rebound above league average and Wood (and Cousins) will be a big part of that.
