    I wasn't as down on Wood as some of you guys. I guess it's good to get something for him while he's still under contract. But a late first and filler? I dunno... It's just meh.

    I can see it now. The Mavs gonna play Warriors in the playoffs. Draymond gonna get in Woods head and he's gonna go crazy. Either quit or get ejected. Basically be rendered useless.

    We just converted his value into a draft pick. I’m pretty sure we are about to use that pick and other assets to net us a solid chip for our rebuild. I will judge this trade when I see what happens with the 26th pick but generally converting Wood to draft pick value just makes it easier for us to trade.

    We can question the return all day, but most of the posters in this forum were hoping we could use Wood and 17 to move up 4-5 spots and get Eason, Sochan, etc. This trade makes that a possibility. And even if they don't move up, you're getting another lottery ticket with the 26th pick, you're freeing up playing time for Banchero and Sengun, and you're moving on from a guy who didn't make your basketball team better and wasn't going to be a key part of the rebuild. I'm thrilled by the news. Huge step in the right direction!
