I hope we are bad next year, at least bottom 3 bad. I don't think we will be the worse team in the NBA but I at least want a 14% chance for Victor.
Wood's stats also look really good. When you're the worst team in the NBA. Team play differently against you. This is what people called empty stat. I'm looking more at how they play. I said it before I don't know if this is player or bad coaching or tanking. Players don't know what each other want to do. KPJ as the team primary ball handler, spend lot of time not calling play or there isn't one. I said it many times, they all look like they don't know what to do, it's just iso iso and iso. KPJ is better when he try to score himself. Not good when he try to run a play. Just ask yourself this question, how many team can he start?
We are rebuilding, so it don't matter much now. But for long term KPJ is not the answer as primary ball handler on playoff team. He can start if we get a better ball handler. My problem with lots of young players is they often try to do the homerun play. Passing to get assist, instead of doing a simple pass. Lot of turnover is because ball get intercepted or tipped. Green also has the problem. We'll see what happen next year. If it isn't getting much better in 3rd year, you need another solution.
Silas basically admitted he was letting them play street ball last year. We will see if he really changes his philosophy or just plain can’t coach. We will see.
Dallas won the trade because they got what we needed Houston won the trade by getting a first round pick and more importantly isn’t stuck with a long term contract and free up more minutes We will have basically all of our cap space, besides what we do with KPJ, and not be stuck contractually with players we don’t really want on the team after this year Winning a trade isn’t about who received the best talent. Stone has impressed me more in 2 years than Morey ever did, besides the garden trade
Can't wait to see Sengun bully Wood next year when we play Dallas. Sengun better strap up that game because Wood will definitely be trying to prove something. Will be must watch TV for Rocket fans.
What stands out is that Wood is offensively a huge upgrade over Dwight Powell or whoever and that most centers aren't very good at either of these things. I actually like the bball index headshot plot when it's just C's bc there's not too many low res headshots needlessly stacked on top of each other to see who is where, like most of their data viz on Twitter
The Rockets' deal with the Mavericks that sent Christian Wood for the No. 26 pick cannot be completed until draft night, and there's a strong possibility Houston will look to expand the deal by trading up with the No. 17 pick or by making various other moves. There's a chance the trade won't be finalized until July 6, after the free-agency moratorium. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-the-divide-between-kyrie-irving-and-brooklyn
This is very tempting if we could land both Chet and Ivey. I would not consider it for anybody else. We may have to throw in EGo and Tate to get Sacramento to deal though.
From 17/26 to #4 is a HUGE jump. If Kings are willing to dance, you throw in whatever is needed, our core excluded of course, without any question.
I think a structure like that has never been tried. It would attempt to manipulate the draft lottery... depends on how they value things. They would be guaranteed a top 5 pick between theirs and ours or they would be adding a second pick likely between #5 and #10. So that #4 pick this year would be for 17/26 in 2022 and say #6 or #7 in 2023. Only scenario where they get stuck with just 17/26 is guaranteeing them a top 5 pick in a better draft.
Did we trade Christian Wood for the #26 pick to draft the next Christian Wood in John Butler out of Florida St?
