Christian Wood thinks he will be a ‘max player’

I’d trade him to GSW for the Minny picks if it falls to number 4

 

After we get off the ugly wall contract our foundation is :
Woods - max or near to it- 6’10 inside outside game walking bucket

Cade or bust - will be a max player
This will be our foundation these two players as much as I like the young kid Kevin Porter jr, not sure if he is a max player yet the jury is still out on him. I think Cade is the cant miss talent!

 

I’m torn on this

On one hand I get it because Randle didn’t take a big jump in raw numbers he became more efficient and led the Knicks to the playoffs

On the other hand Woods raw numbers are such a big jump that makes this look pretty disrespectful, he didn’t come in 2nd, 4th is crazy

on my 3rd hand, who cares

 

Yea not big of a deal. I could see why randle got it, he got way more efficient, clearly better, and led his team to an unlikely home court playoff appearance.

Wood was great, easily out played his contract, had injuries and played for the worst team in the league which probably hurt a little bit. Either way, more than deserving and we got a tsteal in wood

 

How did we get multiple Woods? I thought we only had the one.

 

Wood says he'll improve, this should help fuel the fire.

 

Wood can't let this stain him or his career, he's got to nail together his own destiny.

Christian wood is so over rated on this board. He is alright but he's just a good role player right now. He's not Embiid, he's not Jokic, he's not Nurkic or AD. Hell watching Ayton in the playoffs right now, I would even trade Wood for Ayton and Mobley too. He's 25 and has a shot the guy however still hasn't developed a body to compete against other bigs. I hope he proves me wrong but for right now if we give Wood a max contract then we've sunk so low that we are desperate to retain any kind of talent.

Some people really think getting the 26th pick is worse than holding on to Wood and realizing he is going to want the max. Even though he likely won't get it, he'll get paid more than what anyone who has watched him the last year should be willing to pay him on this team.

That being said, Luka, Lebron, Harden, Cade type players actually makes sense for a guy like Wood

 

Much more than the 26th pick, they open up 30-35 minutes as a starter for Sengun, possibly Usman will get backup minutes who knows.

This is also Jalens team now and it’s clear, I doubt CWOOD would have wanted to take a back step to Jalen in all honesty.
