Near closing time at the bar, every woman starts looking like a super model.........(so I hear). Is Wood a franchise player.....Close enough.
Ok can you explain how that's a good sample size. Don't you remember how everybody was saying House was a 8 million dollar a year player and the missing link to a championship? How about these guys? Jeremy Lin? MCW? Tyreke Evans? Von Wafer?
None of those guys were ever top 20 in PER or in PIE. By essentially every advanced metric, Wood was trending to being a top 20 player in the league before his injury, in his first full year as a starter. Does that make him a guaranteed top 10 player in the future? Of course not - he might regress, the league could catch up, he could be injury prone, he might be done progressing due to age, etc, etc etc. But to say it is just wishful thinking that he could be a franchise player is wrong, and to compare him to House/MCW/Lin/etc. is absurd..
It's like John Wall is behaving like Carmelo Anthony. Him constantly saying he is a Leader. Honestly gets me mad. Hakeem Olajuwon never uttered words saying he is a Leader. He proved it by playing games and playing back to backs. Not eating or drinking water in Ramadan and playing games. Putting 30 pt 10 reb Performances. Just be quiet and get $40 million. You are performing Bravo now the Rockets Will Trade You. I don't want John Wall to Destroy the Nucleus of Kevin Porter Jr and Christian Wood.
A fourth of a regular season plus when he got the opportunity he did it on the Pistons last year, as well as him being extremely efficient while putting up those numbers. Those “flukes” weren’t efficient. Already said this also but we were winning a lot of games and the second he went out were the worst team in the league. Not a coincidence
I won't say he's the next superstar, but he's a good piece to have to spread out the floor while also being able to rebound and block shots.
He is as much of a franchise player as wall. Trade him for picks cause he honestly doesn't fit the rebuild timeline.
He’s not right this year. Something is way off with the dude. He just doesn’t fit in whatever role they are trying to force him into right now, and pairing up with Theis is brutal. No chemistry there at all.
His mental game is so bad. He shows off when he scores like he’s Giannis/AD or something while we’re down 20 .. bro you’re a nobody. He’s abysmal at free throws? Likes driving from the perimeter all the way to the post like he’s harden? Brings the ball up and never ever ever does anything with it except for waste shot clock and miss opportunities a real PG would have. I don’t know what it is. If he just picked and popped and shot open 3s and midrange and drove off pump fakes from the midrange he would be an all star? I’m sure our team sucking and him playing with theis have a lot to do with it but he looks real dumb out there.
He’s not a number 1 option and that’s fine. He would be performing a lot better with a better point guard situation. Fine with trading him or not.
trade him now. 1. by the time this team gets good he'll be on the wrong side of 30. he's not on the green/sengun timeline. 2. he's better at center and we should be prioritizing sengun as the starting center 3. even if you wanted to start sengun at center and wood at PF, the top 3 picks in this draft are PF so we will likely be drafting his replacement this summer. 4. its not like he's helping us win any games right now. 5. his trade value will diminish once he enters his final year.
This guy sucks. He ain't the one. He's not even starter material. Very low IQ, remindes me of Dwight Howard in that sense
