Well, we're not winning a championship but it was a positive move.

 

wood is a more rare skill set at the position. Team needed size at center. Rockets also get a couple first rounders out in return. Wood can run with Harden as a lob threat and with Russ as a perimeter shooter. Harden hasn’t played with a 5 with a skill set like this.of Harden and Russ leave, Wood’s versatility opens up the playbook for a well-regarded offensive coach in Silas. Nice get.

 

Congrats to @treyk3 . I am impressed by your unwavering belief that this would happen. Kudos to Stone for getting this done.

In any event, same feeling as an hour ago. Swapping Roco for Wood and two protected firsts seems pretty legit. Good start for Stone.

That video from the Ringer is very insightful.

One key takeaway I had was when he had some issues with taking poor shots and how teams worry if he will revert back to his old habits after a contract.

Here's my main thing though. He transformed his game on both sides in one year and turned that into a 3 year, 41 million dollar contract. If he performs like he did per 36 in DET and gets better. He could be 27-28, looking at a max deal. Is that not incentive enough to work on your game?

And for as much flack as Harden/Westbrook have gotten in regards to their off the court stuff. They don't play when it comes to them trying to get a ring. Signing Wood was a BIG move and could keep Harden/Westbrook here for one more season.
