Sometimes to take two steps forward you gotta take a step back.

....forgive them for they know not what they do...

...For to every one who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.... — Matthew 25 (coincidence? i think not)

Shooting better from 3 means outplaying?

Based on every single metric, it shows that AD is light years ahead of Wood. Please explain how Wood have been outplaying AD in the past 2 season, I'll wait.

I mean the advanced stats shows it's not even close.

The OBPM, DBPM, VORP and WS again favors AD, and once again it's not even close.

Please explain... or you can just admit you're talking out of your ass.

I don't think anyone here is calling Wood a bum. Everyone knows he's good, even the crowd that wants to trade him - that's why they want to trade him, he's good so he has high trade value. If he was 3 years older I think it's a no brainer that you have to trade him. And if he's 3 years younger it would be a no brainer to keep him. He's right in that range where it's a really tricky decision. Lots of pros and cons either both decision.

I'm still torn on this and not sure which way to go. I don't feel strongly either way. Whatever ends up happening I hope Stone gets it right.

AD plays like an old man now.

LOL 26 years young, with low mileage, he has at least a 10 years of good basketball left in him

at least 5 years of playing at his peak...for the next contract he may take a bit of discount and there you go..
you gotta value continuity and keep him if hes not an absolute cancer in the lockeroom
sign him to max or discount max if he allows on the condition of working on his defensive game (and setting better picks)... he has a BEAST POTENTIAL on that end

giving him the max or near max would be a franchise crippling move. He's worth about 20 million a year when you already have a harden and CP3. With all that length he can't post up harden. Tucker should box him out easily too. He has to play in a certain system to get the most out of him, but along with him comes his deficiences in boxing out and setting screens. He needs to play with an all star caliber 4 who compliments his weaknesses. For all he does on offense, he gives some of that back on defense in the paint. I respect your opinion, but lets revisit this in several years. I doubt any team is willing to give him the max on his next deal. and he is one injury away from him being a bad contract with that weak frame of his.

I pointed this out last year ,(Wood was statistically outplaying AD) that was when I realized that Wood was one of only 5 "unicorns" going 20/10 while shooting 37% or better from 3.

AD is not in that conversation as his 3 ball is in Jalen Green territory.

In each individual stat , Wood is competitive with or above AD the last two years.

Where he doesn't measure up is team stats that account for wins but there's an obvious answer to that - One has Lebron and a bunch of ring chasers , the other has a team that lost 22 in a row & 15 in a row.
Of course your plus minus stats type stats are going to be skewed with that volume of negative figures cumulative.

Stats can be manipulated to suit a narrative , you just have to pick the right stat.

So nice to see Wood and Gordon playing well. Perfect time to sell high.

We are gonna get a nice haul.

Hilarious to see people in here begging to max Christian Wood. Hopefully no one in the front office is that dumb.

So based on last season Wood > AD?

AD’s defense and playmaking is far ahead. There’s a reason why there is no chatter about Wood being the next big man, a la AD or even KAT.

Doing it for multiple seasons matters a lot.
