I'm just happy that Stone isn't falling for the trap desperate GMs fall into when it comes to players like Wood getting max contracts on bad teams.

Move him while his value is sky high. No one is arguing that Wood isn't the best player on this team BY FAR. It's that he isn't going to get a Max deal here so the clock is ticking on the type of return for his value.

Would the smart teams trade away young All NBA (your words, not mine) players?

Smart teams build around those type of players.

The NBA is not a regular business. I went to business school. You can fill the seats by making the right decisons. Youre acting like tanking is a choice here LMAO. We are not gonna win many games regardless. Your boy Wood has started EVERY GAME and we've only won 3 and you want to over pay him. Talk about bad business.

To be clear the only reason you would keep Wood at this age is if he becomes an all star or superstar and you see yourself building around him and paying him big money. If you dont see that you need to trade him now before he just leaves for nothing because youre not gonna wanna pay him what he wants.

“The Rockets are increasingly comfortable with the offers on Oladipo Wood in the marketplace, which include young players and first-round pick combinations Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley and a pick swap that the franchise believes are suitable returns to make a deal, sources said.”

Wood isn't an All NBA type player so that's good news.

I don't really see Wood being a GSW type of player, I think it's just more of "they have the best combo of assets and win now".

He seems more of a Kings player or Knicks player in the East.

The Rockets benched Daniel Theis and C-Wood suddenly turns into an All-NBA player. Stone should keep Wood right now unless he gets a home run offer IMO

Don't take this personally Joe, but you are dim witted AF.

There are ZERO players in next draft that can or should start at the 5 in the NBA.

Let me repeat that for you one more time and as slowly as I can.

There is no player who can immediately start at center in 2022 draft.

And Sengun is not ready to start either. He is too foul prone.

Sengun and Wood actually have complementary games, so when time comes next season or beyond he will be able to play alongside Wood.

By the way, a team full of rooks will not grow together. Smart organizations will trade away good young players for All Stars or near All Stars to hasten their rebuild/playoff contention.

If we intend on plugging Jalen Green back in the starting line I think Wood has to get traded. Alpi is a better facilitator on offense.

Why do you always resort to personal attacks? Kind of a dirtbag move.

These kinds of statements lowers the quality of any conversion.

I mean, it's SUPER likely we are drafting in the top 5 and picking a big man...at that point you will be wanting to play Sengun a lot more and will want to play your new young Big whether that is Duran, Chet, Banchero, Smith, whoever...

That's the main reason for trading him. I think this team is a bottom tier team that likely will be drafting like 8th at worse...but likely top 5. You're going to pick up Wood's replacement so no reason keeping him on the team. His value right now will be pretty high too, especially around mid-season when teams are looking for that one move to put them over the top.

You think so? I honestly think they would let Kuminga and Wiseman go for Wood. Maybe I'm too biased lol

Not my term, as I pointed out.

But a YOUNG player of that caliber should NOT be traded amirite?
