<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Proud to announce Christian Wood <a href="https://twitter.com/Chriswood_5">@Chriswood_5</a> has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia 76ers. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Sixers?src=hash">#Sixers</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ASM?src=hash">#ASM</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/UNLV?src=hash">#UNLV</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FindlayPrep?src=hash">#FindlayPrep</a></p>— Matt Ramker (@MattRamker) <a href="https://twitter.com/MattRamker/status/640925602166493184">September 7, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Yeh whats going on? I just rushed over here after seeing this on twitter. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">As <a href="https://twitter.com/MattRamker">@MattRamker</a> the agent for Christian Wood notes, Wood to PHI, most likely a 3+ year contract, Would be the 8th player with 3+ years in PHI</p>— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) <a href="https://twitter.com/BobbyMarks42/status/640931440608325633">September 7, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Is this related to locking up Montrezl? BTW IMHO Wood looked like straight up butt juice in the summer league...
It never happened. He signed for 3 yrs with Philly. I assume we could only offer a year or two to not hit the hard cap.
It's a smart move by the 6ers, they can afford to gamble on a guy that is that raw that has that kind of upside, they have absolutely nothing to lose. Worst case, he doesn't work out and their team sucks.....that's kind of what they want.
not sure he'll even be ready after 3yrs……looked like he needs a lot of work in those summer league games
CoachBadlee faints. So Sam Hinkie just came in and signed Wood? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sources: UNLV forward Christian Wood – one of the highest-rated talents to go unselected – has agreed to a free agent deal with Houston.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/614568393333690369">June 26, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Guess it was only a summer league deal? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So sorry. I messed up on that tweet. Exclude Christian Wood. My mistake on that. Will retweet with correct list.</p>— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen/status/639472618467229697">September 3, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Thought he didn't include Wood because he already signed but now, he obviously didn't include him because, well, he wasn't/didn't sign(?).
This should give us just enough room to sign: 1) Montrezl to a 3 plus year contract (~$1.2 million) 2) a vet to a 1 year contract today (~$947k) 3) a vet to a 1 year contract in March (~$300k)
This makes me worry more about Harrel. I thought the Wood deal was done? And wtf Philly? WTF? So next year you will have Embiid Noel Saric Wood Aldemir + a pf pick since 75% of the next draft are pfs and they have half the picks in the draft??
If I'm not wrong Landry had a surgery and will be out for months. Not to mention that he will get bought out anyway because he's contract is AWFUL.
Well, young Mr. Wood will face better competition and probably develop better w/ Philadelphia than he does w/ the Vipers.
Good, was never a huge fan of that signing. This season is a waste since we didn't sign superstar Bigger Al.
