The KKK certainly commit terrorist acts. They are much more interested in genocide than terror. The IRA are terrorists to the extent of bombing the tubes, etc. Any actions that the IRA has taken in Northern Ireland have largely been against the government that specifically excepted Catholics from the legal protections afforded all other residents. That falls under the rubric of defense against an oppressor. A lot of people (not necessarily you) do not realize that Catholic homes were routinely barged into by the British government in Northern Ireland. In many instances, the lady of the house was then raped by the soldiers as her children watched. It was a bad situation overall. It does NOT give them the right to harm innocents in England using public transportation. That is a terrorist act and no batter than the repression they rebelled against.
Invasion of Iraq for no legitimate reason Centennial Olympic Park Bombing Northern Ireland The Crusades Funding Israeli's military which has committed gross human rights violations Forced conversions (from historical missionaries to modern day) "Concerned Christians" - failed plot to blow-up sites in Jerusalem 2002 Soweto Bombings I mean, are you seriously going to say Islam is a terrorist religion and ignore what has been done in the name of Christianity - both historically and current?
My post was in response to Space Ghost's recoil and anger at the term Christian terrorist. As if such a thing doesn't exist and any reference to it is hateful. It's a double standard.
Not that he needs defending, but I don't think he said that. You have realize there is a different betweens Muslims and Muslim Extremists, and he was talking about Muslim Extremists. There is a different between Christians and Extremists and flat-out nutjobs. Anytime a faith is skewed and scriptures/writings are taken out of context to justify ones sick deeds, they become Extremists/nutjobs. You say horrible things have been done in the name of Christianity historically and you're exactly right, but as a previous poster mentioned about this current issue, the guy that killed the abortion doctor probably has a warped view of Christianity (if he is one), and anybody that uses religion to defend what they do in these cases has a warped view of their faith. That earns them the title extremist and a nutjob. I seriously doubt that there are a lot of people who blame all Muslims for atrocious acts committed by some Muslims. No need to throw the "you hate all Muslim" card out.
No. That is not what I said. Reference was made to perceptions regarding Muslim extremist terrorism. I referenced why that perception exists. Perception is not always reality. I merely dealt with the perception.
Living is legal in this country. that does not mean murder is terrorism. call it what it is. and "indoctrinated"= really? is there nothing you won't blame W and Cheney for, even retroactively? at what point does personal responsibility, or the fact that democrats, and your chosen one, now control all levers of gov'ment, enter the picture? really, if you're going to make the ridiculous implication that this is somehow the fault of republicans, or George Bush, you should at least inform us at what point we might begin to call the current power-holders to account. in this case, for failure to use the bully pulpit to "un-indoctrinate" us.
Religious extremists - UGH !!! I am sorry for the Doctor's family and hope the perpetrator gets the death penalty. DD
That the only thing that will change peoples hearts and minds about the abortion issue is the threat of violence against them.
And I find it disappointing, but in no way surprising, that a bigot would have an opinion about who should be attending church.
Can you engage in discussion without name calling? Or is that what you have to resort to since you cannot behave like an adult in here?
