I'm not so sure quoting Bush gives you credibility in a subject you otherwise aren't that familiar with . But full props for using "mendacious" in a sentence today!
Well life was destroyed to save countless human lives. They were animal lives used in research for a large number of drugs and procedures that are standard practice today. In the case of many of those forms of life they had much more consciousness than a stem cell or even a new born infant. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. You just gave a quote that made sense to you, but I was wondering if you really believed that.
I'm not trying to do anything other than introduce people to who I understand God to be through the person of Jesus Christ. That makes me an evangelist...a word with a lot of baggage that I'd like to steal back, frankly. Everything is in response to Him...and none of it is to my credit because I've been changed by Him. I've seen it happen in me....felt it happen in me. I'm alive on time that wasn't otherwise afforded to me, so I have to TRY to live back in some sense of response to that. And I'm not alone at all in this. I've met people from this message board who LIVE that way! I go to church with people who are absolutely sold out in loving the community around them. My business partner spends so much time and effort in trying to make life better for those around him. I don't feel alone at all. And in fact, the Church that we often talk about here is one I simply read about....the church I am part of meets in homes and borrows spaces for worship so it can leverage resources for other people. I know people who are doing for women in this situation EXACTLY what I've just spent words talking about....and they do it every single day! thank you for the kind words.... and Groogroux, you're killing me! i'm embarassed....let's just get you back into watching the 'stros, please!!!!
It's intriguing, but as with my biggest issue on abortion, if the life being taken isn't represented or given a choice in the matter then I will most likely oppose the destruction of that life. however, as far as animal research, I tend to value an animal life a lilttle less then a human life. If that sounds harsh, so be it.
i need to take you and thomas out for drink and eats to watch the 'stros sometime soon as a thank you!!!
How so? Pro-Choice means women have a right to make decisions abotu their bodies. If they do not see a fetus as a living human being, it's not murder. Being anti-Death Penalty makes sense. It's unecessary to kill a person behind bars with a life-in-prison sentence.
I hope that as many tears are shed for Tiller as for the babies he murdered. Murder is wrong no matter what the motivation or rationale.
Having a beating heart and brain activity does constitute human life. A fetus doesn't even have the ability to receive sensory input (including pain) before 26 weeks. Self-awareness doesn't happen until a baby is 3 months out of the womb. It's vague and uncertain. If it could be shown that a fetus was self-aware, I would become pro-life in a heart beat. But that's not the case. and because of that, I think it's best to let a woman decide what to do with her body.
So now it's okay to murder a baby as long as the child has not yet achieved three months of age? Is the next step, it's okay to murder a child up to the age of 4 because he/she can't fend for himself/herself at all until then?
