Pathetic. Really! Do you really hate Christians that much? Will you be the first to scream foul for calling Muslims terrorists? Are all crimes now considered acts of terrorism? Your choice of words speaks volumes on how you feel about certain individuals beliefs. Next time someone throws out a hate filled post, don't throw a rock in your glass house.
A little over the top I agree, but the point is the same as terrorism. Abortion is legal in this country and will continue to be so. Rabid opponents bomb clinics, publish personal information, stalk patients, and kill doctors all woth the aim of making society change in a way it wouldn't without this violence. I think you can legitimately call this terrorism, though we have become so indoctrinated to a certain definition of terrorism since 9-11 that I can understand how some people might disagree.
Terrible thread title, in terms of "Christian," until we know more about suspects or even convicted murderers in the case. Yes though, this qualified as terrorism. The perps are trying to instill terror in doctors who perform abortions, and those that might consider having an abortion.
As a pro-lifer, I'll say the guy is a terrorist. What else could he be? His actions were meant to strike terror into abortion doctors. Not the way we are supposed to operate this pro-life movement. No good comes from evil.
I'm not fond of abortions either, but this is not much better than Muslim extremism if you think you doing God's will by killing people.
Bahaha... it's conservatives that go out of their way to tie Muslims to the word terrorist, it's part of their reasoning for profiling. I've never seen a group of people that can dish it out but can't take it as much as conservatives. You guys are just hilarious.
Pam-Am 103 9/11 USS Cole hostages in Iran Achille Lauro Attacks in Beirut throughout the 1980s Kidnapping and murder of Israeli Olympic athletes These are just the terrorist acts of Muslim extremist groups that I can recall off the top of my head. To the extent that the word terrorist conjures up the image of Muslim extremists, they did a good job of putting that image out there themselves. All of that being said, the action described in the article is terrorism. Of course, nobody has indicated what the perpetrator's religion is or whether the perpetrator did so under the auspices of a splinter religious organization. Nice try with the misleading thread title. You have become quite the basso counterpart.
Given the facts, including the previous murder attempts by self-identified Christians and the sizable array of self-identified Christian organizations that call him a 'mass murderer', an 'abomination' and a 'monster', I think it is reasonable to assume that the perpetrators performed the act as a result of Christian religious motivations. Almost every article I've read at least tentatively assumes this to be the case. When a boat smashed into the Cole in a port in a Muslim nation, for instance, nobody had any problem identifying it as most likely a nominally Islamic religious act, even before there was hard evidence that it wasn't perpetrated by hardcore Communist revolutionaries, Basque separatists, random drive-by boat attacking gangsters, or the captain's drunken wife seeking revenge for her husband's infidelities. BTW, the Achille Lauro, most of the bombings in Beruit, and the kidnapping and murder of Israeli Olympic athletes were performed by the PLO, an Arab Palestinian communist/socialist nationalist organization, which was secular and non-religious.
I think the point that cometswin is trying to make is that people want to make terrorism a Muslim only thing and your response to that was just to rattle off a list of examples of Muslim terrorism so maybe he's right. The IRA did commit acts of terror during your lifetime. The KKK did commit acts of terror in your country. But do you really think of them as terrorists?
1. I looked over the article. . . where is the suspects religious faith revealed? . . or even that matter . . .where does it say that is his motivation? 2. So did he or did he not do Late Term Abortions. If he did them . . I wonder how he got acquitted. This is Sad Sad news. Rocket River
He did them because they were legal. He was charged with violating the proper procedure to legally perform late term abortions.
Well, they caught the guy... I don't know anything about him, but I'm not surprised it's a him and I will be surprised if he doesn't have a warped view of Christianity.
Hmmm... can't get to the Operation Rescue site, but it looks like they have a whole page devoted to the "Tiller Watch."
