Well, I guess opponents won't have to worry about getting beat by tear drops......

Seriously though, good luck to Skip.

Good for him. Don't think he'll be a great coach though.

    Good for him.

Any knowledgeable Rockets fan really shouldn't have anything negative to say about him. He played hard, almost never got hurt and made the best of an unideal situation (being the only starter-caliber point on the roster, no suitable backup, heavy minutes).

    Best of luck to him.

Love when former Rockets make Houston their home after retirement. The gig sounds like it should pay pretty well too. Wasn't Charlie Ward a sub-varsity football assistant when he first arrived on the Houston HS scene? Same goes for Bruce Mathews right? Look at Rafer starting at the top, crazy.

Edit: Unless I'm mistaken, I caught a couple of minutes of a show that aired on channel 17 here in Houston that followed that team when Deandre Jordan was there. Seemed to be an all-access type thing, you could see the coach cussing at the players, etc... seemed pretty interesting. Rafer seems like the right fit for that team.

Good for Rafer. That CLCA job is going to turn into a stepping stone job for former pros to get into college and NBA coaching.

Glad to see Rafer landing a job in basketball, even if it's not in the pros. Best of Luck to him!

Wait, Rafer isn't Jewish? I always thought he was Jewish for some reason...

Disagree. I think Rafer could be an excellent coach, and may even have a future as an NBA assistant.

That is so cool, I wish I went to that school. Learning basketball from a streetball legend would be sick.

Just don't let him teach them how to shoot.

I personally think Rafer could make an excellent coach, not necessarily a head coach but an assistant coach. His always had the right mentally on both sides of the court, he just didn't shoot the ball particularly well

Why? because he was stingy with making his teardrops?
