Can't sacramento re-sign him for money than any else(bird rights?)? If so, money talks and that's where he will stay. He is young enough that he is not desperate for a ring just yet.

Achebe--why are you putting down the Barkley offense? I thought you were a big fan of his.

I doubt he will even leave Sacramento, he is just trying to get the organization to know that he wants a long term maximum deal. Hes playing the best he ever has and he is on a winning team. There is no reason for him to do otherwise. I would love for us to get him, but I would actually rather just pick up Marc Jackson, Antonio Davis, and Richard Jefferson through the lottery and then resigning our players. I feel that there is a lot more of a chance of that happening.

You may be right. But if anyone can count on a long-term maximum deal, it's Webber. He doesn't need to play that game; his real game speaks volumes.

All he has to say is, "I love Sacramento and if they want to sign me for the rest of my career, hand me a pen." I'm sure the Maloofs or whatever their name is understand that for him to stay in Sacramento, they need to ante up. Why risk the fan fallout?

If any game gets played, it will be to use Detroit and Houston as fall-backs, places he can go if Sacramento doesn't trade him to New York (if that's what he wants; I'm still not convinced of that). Besides, Houston and Detroit will know if Chris isn't gonna come around, so that game can't last, especially if the signing date starts July 15 this year, and these teams will make alternate moves.

It was interesting to hear him last night after the Kings-Spurs: "My teammates can win without me, but" (he needs to play well, too, or words to that effect).

You're a Sac fan right ? I see what you're saying and know how you feel. But, I think Chris is a goner. Maybe not to here, but not Sacramento.

What did you expect him to say when someone asked him about Peja ? Chris seems to have an endearing personality, so I'm sure he likes his teammates, but sometimes he looks really unhappy on the court. I don't know though, good luck.

I think he referenced the food thing as Sac towns small population and maybe Chris's perception that Sac isn't culturally diverse.
