Dave Attel, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, George Carlin and the Sedaris siblings would have to go on my funny list..also Stephen Colbert. Genius.

Opps, one more: Robert Smigel, the man behing Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog and TV's Funhouse. The bit with Triumph terrorizing a bunch of Star Wars geeks was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

And Dane pushes unfunny, dated, 90's tripe.

Stoner humor is good for a one-off, something you'd rather forget the next morning (or afternoon, as the case may be).

Comparing Hedberg (a funny cat) to a visionary like Chris Rock is like putting Charo's maraca playing on the same level as a Tony Williams or Max Roach.

Sorry, cannot get this off my angry and heaving (man)bosom:

Hedberg's "Baked Potato" bit v. Rock's "N!ggers vs. Black People" missive.

    Yr call.

    Baked Potato all the way.

I'm sorry, but loud and obnoxious does not equal funny in my book.

I like Hedberg, but he's fast food comedy. In and out, within the hour.

And if Rock equals "loud" in yr book, I'd hate to read what you think of Lenny Bruce or (even louder, vocally) the greatest ever -- one William Hicks.

Remember that stand up show Comedy Central used to run of Dana Carvey? They used to play it once a week. I love Chris Rock. I love Dave Chappel...but no matter what I was doing, how busy, even if I was bleeding to death. If that show came on I watched it. One of the best stand ups ever.

    "D-d-d-d....Do it again, w****."

i love bill hicks. i actually read his biography. he would have probably been huge if he would have not died.

and one more reason to hate carrot top for everyone. i read in the book that he won some "huge" comedy award over Bill Hicks. now that just pissed me off when i read that.

A friend of mine and myself watched a Lions game a few years back, and everytime James Stewart was mentioned, we had to blurt that out. Three hours of my life I'll never get back, but very fun.

Nothing beat the chopping Brocolli piece he finished the show with. It reminded me of the awful Foreigner days.

I found out recently that Bill Hicks was from Houston. He was very funny. I did not know he wrote a biography. I'll have to find it.
