So nobody is going to mention how completely unreadable that article is if you aren't familiar with Midnight Run?

I probably haven't seen that movie since 1989. I was like 12. I didn't even remember it existed and don't remember it being particularly good or that big of a deal at the time.

Really? Dude wrote an entire article referencing a movie that is 25 years old and barely even relevant when it was brand new?

I'm usually a fan of Simmons and don't even mind his pop culture references - but this was a bit much.

Having read the remainder of the article, Simmons does not sound like a fan of D12.

Not many D12 fans left outside of the swarm he just picked up upon landing in the H.

The Clippers and Doc. Rivers are the most overated team in the league.

If I remember correctly, the rumor being floated at the time was that Houston was trying to S&T Howard for Lin and Asik so they could clear the cap space to sign Paul outright.

Yep. Because there was 0% chance that the Clippers wouldn't cave to whatever Chris Paul wants when he threatens to leave.

would you want these type of players though? the type that demand what they want and get coaches fired.

    rondo, d.will, paul.

Hmm I'm not sure I like that. I don't want to have a team where the star player has so much say he can actually dictate who's gonna be the coach. I mean, what's next? Who should get PT, like how DH lobbied for ORL to resign an injured Jameer Nelson at an overprice rate and then give him lots of PT?

You can't have inmates running the asylum, it destroys the team chemistry because everyone (coach, gm, other players) start having to watch their back and suck up to the franchise star. And it always doesn't end well, LBJ left Cleveland, DH left Orlando, and now CP3 threatened to leave the Clips.

What the hell is the point of this thread? This is cruel. It will only result in really, really bad thoughts every time Lin does a disappearing act like he did in the playoffs...

Unfortunately, it's a players' league. Stars dictate everything, everywhere, because that's what you need to win.

Not buying it. The CP3 + D12 pairing would have happen at Atlanta, not Houston.

Heck if CP3 is forcing a sign and trade, he be joining Lebron or Melo.

CP3 knew where Dwight was going, a lot of people seemed to.

As for s&t's, both teams you suggested are miles over the apron.
