100% salary move to get rid of Poole's salary. New GM Dunleavy wants his imprint. CP3 is going through many teams like Melo, I think CP3 goes where he wants to go and ...... asked to be waived.
Kid has a nice stroke, so this trade is just looking worse and worse for the Worriers (IMHO). Reactions from fans are trending very negative from what I'm hearing on local Bay Area radio. And I am soaking it up. Picks, Baldwin, and Poole for the rotting flesh of CP3. At least the combined ages line up. Heheheheh.
Big CP3 fan - I think he's done. I didn't think this in 2019, but I do now. Super strange trade for the Warriors. They must have really hated Jordan Poole.
I might consider doing that, honestly, but so weird to give away Baldwin and two picks (even a far-off one) for that! Maybe Dunleavy Jr is not up to this challenge. Maybe we have the wrath of Kaaaahn part two.
SF gate writes: "Bay Area fans would welcome a starting lineup that included Dillon Brooks, LeBron James and Ron DeSantis if it meant a fifth ring. [...] getting rid of [Poole's] onerous contract and apparently toxic presence will be viewed as a win, at least in the short term. As Thursday’s trade shows, that’s all that matters with these Warriors right now anyway." Seems like all they care about now is fixing their tax woes and selling a feel-good story that they are swinging for the last hurrah for the old guard core (pun intended). They probably know that Green will find it hard to leave his title as the ring leader of a dynasty and can use excuse of tax apron to induce him to sign a reasonable contract (Green's ego should be happy that he was picked over Poole too) or they can sign and trade him
What is Dray saying about his own playmaking, and that of Curry? And what is he saying about the veteran leadership of the organisation?
Oh - you could read it as saying that Ayton was a bust before Paul got there, and he sees Kuminga as an untapped resource that Chris Paul will be able to unlock. But an inference to take away is that they don't possess the leadership skills, or playmaking ability, to have unlocked Kuminga beforehand!! Truth be told, it sounds more like Dray is trying to justify a horrible transaction - the salary dump of Poole for the corpse of Chris Paul (to which they attached a first rounder and a second rounder and young talent in Patrick Baldwin AND Ryan Rollins). But of course, it wasn't just about a salary dump - it was a move they HAD to make in order for Dray to re-sign. So essentially he is trying to justify the usefulness of Chris Paul over Poole, Rollins, BaldwinJr, a 2030 1st rounder and a 2027 2nd rounder. At the time I thought it made some sense, dump Poole to keep Draymond. But it's starting to look like they are managing their $ for once
Didn’t see anything wrong with what he said. He is definitely right about Ayton. Lets stop acting like folks don’t think Ayton is mediocre. He was way worse before cp3 got there
